TL;DR definitely go to Nile for midwifery care (or even for Dr. Frederick), but for the love of all things holy bring a jacket.. or seven. This place is FROZEN like Arendelle in the waiting room. Like if I had ear muffs I'd have probably start to bring them with. Everyone here is really sweet. I really appreciated this practice for the prenatal care they gave me. First time pregnancies can be scary because they are full of unknowns and for the most part Nile eased all my pregnancy woes at ease. I decided pretty early on I wanted a water birth which is what led me to this practice. There were a couple options in the area, but I am happy with my decision. On your delivery day you get whichever midwife is on call at the hospital and that person may be from a sister practice. As such they recommend seeing all the midwives at Nile so you are familiar with them. Scheduling made that difficult as there was a midwife shortage partly through my pregnancy so I saw Dr. Frederick a bunch, instead of a midwife. I was very pleased with my prenatal care though - besides not having been told about the TDAP vaccine (below). Midwife Zahidah is an absolute gem. Was so lucky to have her for the delivery of my daughter. I didn't happen to meet her during any of my million prenatal visits. So the day of my delivery was the first day I met her but she was absolutely lovely. A few places for improvement though. They never told me about the recommended TDAP vaccine during pregnancy. I didn't find out until my daughter was already born when they only asked my husband if he had gotten the vaccine during a pediatrician visit for my daughter which I thought was strange. So I asked during my 6 week follow-up and was told I absolutely should have gotten it during pregnancy and should have been told. I was very annoyed by this oversight, to say the least, as it would have been super beneficial to my daughter had I gotten it while I was still carrying her. Otherwise there are REALLY long waits to see Dr. Frederick. He is so sweet and thorough so I enjoyed every visit I had with him, but you definitely need to prepare for 2.5 hours for a visit. And it is SO cold in the waiting room it felt like forever. I legitimately had to walk outside occasionally to defrost. The office was sometimes a little disorganized, but not so much so I would go to another practice for my next baby. I will forever be grateful to Nile and Midwife Zahidah for helping me bring my daughter into this world safely and healthily. Also if you're thinking about a water birth - 100% recommend - though I'll admit it was not the peaceful calm picture many of the videos depict it as. So adjust your expectations and hop - gently - into that tub!
This place was a horrible experience for my first pregnancy. I had gone to the emergency room due to being extremely nauseous and dehydrated after a miscarriage where I had found out that my HCG levels were over 150,000 and it was suspected that I was having a molar pregnancy. They had me do follow up labs after at Nile womens health and they would only tell me my HCG levels were elevated. When I asked what the levels are exactly, they just told me they were very high and to repeat blood work in a few days after they knew how sick I was. Before I could get my next round of blood work, I had to go to the emergency room in North Carolina because I was so sick I could not stop throwing up for 5 hours and was passing out from dehydration. When I was getting tests done in asheville, they told me since my first emergency room visit my HCG levels went up about 30,000 in about 5 days. The hospital was in disbelief that nothing was done about it and they had to urgently give me a D&C a few hours later. My pathology just recently came back from asheville and they told me I needed to continue following up with HCG because I am at a risk for developing a uterine cancer. Now, I am supposed to be having my HCG monitored and when I made an appointment, no one told me that I had a past balance due that I had to pay via card to get the lab work done. When I told them I could pay cash but I didn't have a card, they sent me home without doing any blood work that the doctors insist is so important. I had to go out of state to get the treatment I deserve and Nile women's health made an extremely traumatic experience for me even more frustrating and overwhelming. My advice is to find any other OBGYN if you want your concerns taken care of.
Extremely disorganized and unprofessional. We waited over an hour from our set appointment time just to be told by an assistant they forget why we were there. The offices are also very unclean. Dirt and residue all over the walls and floors. Go somewhere else.
I had already written a premature favorable review. I'm going to change my review. This clinic is disorganized and the worst when it comes to billing!! Unfortunately, I came to this clinic after my old GYN doctor left the practice and the new office was too far away for me to travel. So, in December, I had my first "new patient" visit, and I gave them the benefit of the doubt when I was forced to wait over 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time to be seen. Then I needed blood work, and the medical technician pricked me three times before realizing she needed someone with more experience. So, I received my findings via the portal and was told that someone will contact me that week to set up a follow-up visit. After two months, there has been no call or follow-up. However, I've received a handful of lab invoices that "Athena" in billing claimed to have taken care of as a result of a billing error. To find out it was never dealt with!!! I've filed a complaint with my insurance company, disputing the billing claim they sent. I will never return here, and I pray that anyone who reads this... a word of caution!!!
Previously, I had been going to a different well-known hospital in the area for my prenatal care. Ultimately, I decided that I was not happy with the care that I was receiving and decided to look at other options. I was recommended to Nile by several women in the metro Atlanta area and after careful research, decided to transfer my care. My first visit with Nile was absolutely amazing. I was able to transfer at 28 weeks, which is cutting it pretty close as many facilities may or may not allow you to transfer so late in your pregnancy. I really like their more holistic approach to healthcare, which was something that was really important to me. It is very easy to make an appointment once you're in the system. Wait times may be longer depending on who is before you but they provide the same care across the board so you will have the opportunity to spend as much time as you need with your provider as well. Most facilities in the area will not allow you to have your partner or support person come to your appointments with you, however, I appreciated that Nile does allow you to have a plus one to support you. I have seen at least two different midwives at the practice, however, I love Claire and decided to continue seeing her throughout the remainder of my pregnancy. I appreciate how much each person you interact with seems to genuinely care about your health and well-being. I think it's so important, especially dealing with sensitive issues like pregnancy and women's health. I would definitely recommend this practice to other women in the area.
Absolutely the best experience from the front staff to the back my daughter was initially seen by Dr I. but Dr Frederick also we receive the best prenatal care for her from the midwives especially Brittany such a blessing this team is it took me 7 months to get to this review but never to late to applaud greatness. I became a patient after i saw how awesome everyone is but my PA Jessi Sellar is no doubt the most awesome practitioner very a%entice, understanding, and gentle thanks Nile for your stellar services we appreciate you all.
The best practice I've ever attended. They took great care of me while pregnant and after I gave birth! I wanted a doctor of color specifically BC the rate of African American woman has risen and I felt safe and cared for with all of their physicians.
Nile is the best hands down! I'm so grateful for this practice. I found Nile on Yelp when looking for care as a new Ga. resident. Dr. Frederick and his team are excellent! From meeting a warm, friendly staff upon arrival for office visits, to seeing (Dr's. Kuzhippala, Ibezue, Frederick, & Glover for checkups) to my fast delivery (w/Dr. Simon) in Emory Johns Creek; have been nothing but stellar. I truly am thankful for the outstanding care I received throughout my pregnancy. I will never forget it :) I highly recommend this practice!
I was seen by Dr. Hughan Frederick who was very personable and efficient with my gyn exam. The problem came after my initial appointment. I need a procedure done to remove a device and I called and left 3 messages and one e-mail for the billing department asking for a procedure code so I could verify what my insurance would pay for and what I may be responsible to pay out-of-pocket for the past month. I gave ample time in between calls to receive a response. I have yet to receive a call back or a response to my question. It has now almost been one month since my exam and I am assuming that everything was fine - no test results given. I checked their online portal and no information was put in my record. I need the device removed so I am going to a new practice for that procedure. I am not returning to this practice as I would rather have a doctor and their office who responds timely with test results and responds to questions.
I used Nile Women's Health Care for HRT and for their diet program. I loved Jessi. She was fabulous and very caring. However, the follow through by the staff on prescriptions was a nightmare. I would call or email them and they would promise to handle it but it never got taken care of.For the diet program when Jessi was on vacation, I was supposed to see Dr. Frederick. I arrived early for my visit and watched as many patients were taken before me. After over an hour of waiting, I finally left. Once again, my prescriptions were not called in. I called the office 3 times and emailed them. Again nothing was done. While I love Jessi, it was made clear by Dr. Frederick and the staff that I was not valued as a patient so I will go elsewhere.
