I'm filling a claim with the Georgia Dental Association regarding Dr. Velez. I hope you will read between the lines because I don't want to make this into a drama. I wish someone had warned me, therefore, I am writing this post. I discovered his calibre before making a big mistake in his chair. Sorry....just too many details.

Just had two extractions and three implants from Dr. Velez and his amazing, caring, and talented staff. I was informed every step of the way, the procedure (first time I had undergone anesthesia where they ensured I was very comfortable) was quick, and I felt fine pretty much immediately thereafter. Incredibly impressed by this group!

All three of my children have had their wisdom teeth out with Dr Velez, our most recent experience with my youngest was just as great as the first one several years ago. He and his staff at Atlanta Oral and Facial Surgery were fabulous, clearly explaining the procedure and follow up care. They called to be sure my son was doing well afterward and to be sure we didn't have any questions or concerns. I highly recommend Dr Velez.

Dr Velez removed my son's wisdom teeth. He and his staff were wonderful, explaining the surgery and post surgery care. They followed up with a phone call to be sure the healing process was going well and to address any questions or concerns. Great experience!

Dr Velez has excellent surgical process but did not do his pre medical procedures with my husbands biopsy; consequently my husband was hospitalized for 5 days with a severe mouth infection and Further complications. His staff rarely answers the phone.

Dr Velez and his staff are very accommodating and great about keeping pain at a minimum .

Everything went really well. I had a herniated disc at the time and they set me up comfortably resting in a recliner chair before my surgery. The surgery was over before I knew it and I have no post surgical issues.

Dr. Velez himself is nice and experienced.However his staff misinforms patients in order to extract fees. It was the end of the year and I specifically asked about his availability to do the surgery within the year. This was to make use of the maxed out deductible. His staff confirmed saying that "He can do it the very day next to the Oral Examination". After doing the Oral Exam, his staff said that there are no dates available. In fact, there were several patients ahead of me. They sure would have known it at the time I called. This was a deliberate attempt on part of his staff in order to fill up a vacant spot and extract fees. Now they have sent me a bill that I plan to contest.
