List of Mount Vernon Internal Medicine's Reviews
Dr. Cohn and his staff are wonderful.
My husband and I have been going here for more than 40 years! Dr,Tinanoff is our doctor and we love her! She has help us through a lot of health issues and she sent me to one of the best rheumatologist in the state over 20 years ago, we still go to her and have always been very happy with the staff!
Thank God I pulled the plug and finally stopped going to this health facility - they will frustrate you!!1. Office staff are all trash, rude, inexperienced and unprofessional! and oh do not bother to call them because they will not answer your call. You can literally cry of frustration just trying to get hold of someone.2. They will bill you unnecessarily without your knowledge always stay on top of your medical claims.3. My doctor was good (Tinanoff) but just couldn't continue going to a facility with such poor management !
Dr Polekoff is a good physician; however the Patient Portal is hard to use.
Doctors are great - staff is horrible.
Thanks to those that shared their experience. I’m a new patient and my first experience went well (actually better than I expected). Based on follow up appt call - direction received on phone for new patient I was prepared and in back within minutes. The assistant that assisted me was amazing ( friendly, attentive and walked me through each process of my appt. - sorry I didn’t get her name). When I met with Dr. Tinanoff it was refreshing. I found it very easy to talk with her and share some of my concerns. I feel I may have found doctor that has time for her patients, who understands and will assist me in making a healthy and better me. Can’t leave without mentioning lab tech (amazing) I don’t like NEEDLES - her experience made a difference. She took great care of me and did so very kind and professionally.Great job Dr. Tinanoff and team - I’m looking forward what’s ahead.
Have been going to Dr Cohn for many years and have found him to be an excellent doctor. His staff changes over the years sometimes for the good sometimes it could be better, but my medical attention from him is always excellent.
There is absolutely NO response to phone messages left with this office for the Doctor's attention. On three different occasions, messages and requests, were never responded to. My wife is troubled wife high blood pressure and in attempting to control this problem, on her last visit to the office, Dr. Tinanoff told her to stop one of her bedtime medications and In doing so, her pressure spiked to 195 over 110 at three in the morning. We treated her with 'emergency' medication and got her pressure under control. The next morning, I called and left word with the Doctor's nurse to ask Dr. Tinanoff what to do at this point ? NO RESPONSE EVER ! This was the third incident with this medical practice and like in baseball...you are out. We changed physicians and one month ago, our new practice requested from this sorry office my wife's medical records. They were NEVER SENT. This week we will go to Mount Vernon and pick up those records. A physician is no better than their supporting cast. There is no excuse for this deliberate unprofessional behavior exhibited within this practice toward their patients. One star above is one too many.
Dr. Sharon Tinanoff is an excellent, observant and caring doctor. She is very detail oriented. I had been seeing numerous doctors about my spine and not one ever said anything about the suspicious moles and lesions on my back. Dr. Tinanoff recommended I see a dermatologist. Turns out I did have melanomas and squamous cell in 4 areas on my back.If it wouldn't have been for Dr. Sharon I don't know how far this would have gone! She is a fantastic Dr!! I highly recommend her. I drive from Myrtle Beach, S.C to be seen by her!
I just read the most recent YELP reviews (most recent is 7/25/2017) and I must respectfully report that I have had none of the negative experiences those patients reported. No one hated going to doctors more than I did. But ever since I began seeing Dr. Sharon Tinanoff quite a few years ago, I look forward to my appointments. I was there two days ago and I couldn't get over how warm, professional, friendly, and caring the staff continue to be. Each of them was absolutely amazing; they really made me feel like they cared about me. And Dr. Tinanoff is absolutely the BEST. She is exceptionally conscientious and thorough, but she is not an alarmist. I've been to other renowned doctors who caused me to get and remain exceptionally stressed out. Dr. Tinanoff is also a great listener and the more I see her, the more comfortable I am when discussing my physical and emotional issues. She genuinely cares and her warmth and professionalism permeate throughout the entire practice. My wife and our adult daughter are also Dr. Tinanoff's patients and I've never heard either of them say anything negative about this top notch physician.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
