List of Gastroenterology Consultants Of Savannah's Reviews
The doctor was OK but the nurses and MAs almost always have attitudes. It’s impossible to get a call back most days. When you DO get to speak to someone on the phone they act like the questions you ask are dumb and like they’re in a rush to get you off the phone. As soon as I find another GI specialist in network with our insurance we will be transferring care.
Charge for a visit that I could not cancel because phone number not working. They also change address without notification
I was reading the reviews which were pretty bad. I have a procedure scheduled soon but Im wondering if I need to find another facility. One thing is certain its hard to get them on the phone and they dont return calls.
Experienced wonderful and caring staff Dr. Tharpe is great
I never post negative reviews. I also work in healthcare so understand certain things. This place is awful. I was a new patient. I had an appointment at 445. I received a call around 100 asking if I could come in sooner. When I asked what time they said whenever you can get here so I dropped what I was doing and told them I could get there by 200. I arrived on time and sat in the lobby for an hour. Then I sat in the room for 20 minutes. The doctor told me he was glad I came in early so he didnt have to wait around until my 445 appointment. Incredibly unprofessional and caught me off guard. I sat for well over an hour so he didnt have to wait around? After 5 minutes he decided I needed multiple tests and left. I was then led to another office to wait to schedule. I sat there for almost another hour. Then I was told that to schedule this procedure that the doctor did not feel strongly about and was poorly explained I would have to pay over $1000 out of pocket. To even schedule. I told them that was not a possibility and left. I was asked to then wait at the front desk to schedule another test. This place is just awful. Patients are obviously just another paycheck. I truly dont understand how this place stays open. So dang money hungry. It also looks like it could really use a makeover.
Consultation with Doctor took 120 secs appointment was at 1445 got seen at 1525Then you have to wait another 10 mins to see someone about getting scheduled....Staff are grumpy and appear not to care.... the least they can do is be happy pretend... and make the experience less of an ordeal than it has to be.If youre running late tell your patients why makes all the difference
They don’t answer their phones or listen to messages left when phones are busy My doctor’s office has faxed since July 2021 for a referral for myself . St. Joseph’s has faxed 5 referrals and NO RESPONSE
I used Dr. Hunter upon recommendation from another doctor and it was a HORRIBLE experience. He ran useless test after useless test and never met with me as a patient. He delegated everything to his PA. He ran up thousands of dollars in medical bills and never apologized for his awful practice. I would never recommend you see a doctor at this practice.
My appt. was scheduled with Dr. Hunter. Well who enters the room the PA who began asking questions unrelated to the visit and proceeds to express her unsolicited opinion about my decision to seek a second opinion regarding a matter from 3 years ago. The PA decides to tell me the next steps which was not what was communicated to me in writing from the physician. At my request the physician comes in and confirms what was communicated to me in writing. Unbeknownst to me the overzealous PA documents her opinion for next steps which I became aware of at check out. I question the decision and decide to transfer to another provider. Dr. Hunter has lost an 11 year highly satisfied patient due to this encounter with his PA. Also I could get anyone to answer the phone to schedule this Appt. I had to actually go to the office. That should have been an indication to me.
I love my PA she has been incredible She takes the time to sit with me and really is invested in serving me well. But getting in contact with this office is the hardest thing to do. I will call multiple times and not get a call back for weeks. Whether it be trying to get a refill on a prescription or trying to schedule an appointment. Its very frustrating when you desperately need the medication or really need to get in. I call weeks in advance knowing it will take a long time but even then its frustrating. Even my pharmacy has a hard time getting a response from them.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
