List of Karen Turner's Reviews
Dr. Turner is great, but her business office staff is atrocious. I had been a patient of Dr. Turner's for many years, yet her staff responsible for billing continuously makes the same mistakes when billing my insurance company. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia is a widely used insurance and should be easy to work with even for a novice. If you have to make regular visits, just plan on lots of follow up calls to the office and your insurance company trying to get the bill paid appropriately. They do not not know how to code your office visit properly for billing purposes. When I reached out via the healo app to ask how I might transfer my medical records to another clinic in my new state, instead of responding they just removed my access to the app and severed the relationship. Great customer service SJC Abercorn Southside.Lastly, I am desperately trying to pay a bill I apparently owe (due to insurance coding error but I'm too fed up to mess with it now that I live 1500 miles away) and they don't provide the ability to make online payments. It's 2021 for crying out loud. Snail mail it is. Do I even still have checks? I'll have to check.
Turner is an MD of Osteopathy but lacks knowledge of critical care. Know the difference. A life could depend on it. 😥
She cares about her patients. I noticed that the first visit.
I am very grateful to Dr. Turner. When I first came to Savannah 14 years ago I picked her to be my primary care physician because I liked her wholistic approach to medicine. I felt she really saw and listened to the whole me. I trust her. She has directed me to wonderful specialists each time I have the need and is always so kind and concerned regarding my special issues and treatments. She has a wealth of knowledge based on science AND experience. I came to her office today because of a UTI and sleep issues. I left after addressing those issues (as well as a sore toe, skin and ear worries). I left with a big smile on my face knowing that I had been given excellent medical care that addressed all of my concerns. Turner ?????????????? As I said in the beginning, I am very grateful to Dr. Turner.
I have gone to Karen Turner since moving to Savannah in 2007. She is highly competent, sincerely caring for her patients, and carefully listens to patient's questions and suggestions for additional care. If she feels these suggestions are pertinent, she grants the request. I consider Karen a dear friend after all these years as well as a very competent (and very popular) physician.
Dr. Turner is very attentive and listens to your concerns.
Dr. Turner and her staff are EXCEPTIONAL. I always feel cared for and like my time matters with them. When they say "welcome to the family" they really mean it. Dr. Turner really listens and will sit and talk with you as long as necessary to make sure you understand everything and have a chance to voice concerns over your health. She is wonderfully dedicated to her patients and the rest of her staff are amazing as well. I am so glad I found them.
Dr Turner is caring and patient Your wait may be a little long but that is understandable because she spends time with her patients. She took the time to listen to me when I began seeing her and was able to diagnose an illness when my last Dr blew off my symptoms. The wait is worth it!
Excellent experience with entire staff. service writer Gary was very knowledgeable.
I wish I could give negative stars.Ive been in pain for months from what I initially believed was a back injury. So much so that 600mg of Ibuprofen every 3-4hrs made it barely tolerable. I was convinced to try a chiropractor first, so I did. After 7 visits and no lasting relief, I got my fiance to set me up an appt with her doc(Turner) as a new patient as soon as possible. The appt would be 2 weeks away(today). I made it through a week with the pain averaging around the level I'd grown accustomed to. Then, last friday I was in enough pain that I nearly went to the ER. I took an old Percocet of my fiances, and decided to wait until Sunday, my only day off work. I would decide then if it was an emergency or if it could wait until I was to see my new Primary Care Doc this morning, 10/10. Sunday came and I decided I could tough it out. During this 2 week period I had also been taking tramadol(prescribed for a dog) sporadically when NSAIDS werent cutting it or when I would get concerned about the amount of NSAIDS I was consuming. I'd also been taking adderall every morning to help push through the day. No part of me thought this was ideal....thats why I made an appointment with a doctor.Fast forward to this morning, my appointment. I scheduled today off from work so I would be available to do anything the Doc needed. I fasted since dinner last night so they could do bloodwork. I printed the forms from the website(which are wrong, btw. dont waste your time) and had them partially filled out before I got there. I printed copies of my last 2 physical exams, an ER visit 2yrs ago, a sleep study I had 2yrs ago for apnea, and a drug abuse risk assessment I went through 2yrs ago. I got there at 9 for a 9:30 appointment. The woman in the window was very nice. The next woman called me back to a little triage area to question me about the 3 prescription drugs and who prescribed them to me. I was honest...I told her I didnt have a prescription, I got them from others I knew who had prescriptions. When she didnt seem to understand what I was telling her, I just simplified it to "black market". She left the room and in around 10 sec she came back and said they wouldnt see me because I was on drugs from a naughty list without a prescription. She also said that they dont prescribe those medications. It didnt make much sense to me in the moment, but I now realize that she was operating under the assumption that I was there to get more of some/all of the 3 prescription drugs Id used recently. Regardless, I had to ask for my copies back of all the medical history paperwork I brought for them to copy. I asked if I didnt have those drugs in my system, when could I come back, and was told that they wouldnt see me.I asked what I should do, as Im at the end of my rope with this leg pain. She said she isnt a Doctor so she cant give me medical advice. I was then shown the door.I saw 2 employees while I was there. A receptionist and a nurse-type. The receptionist was wonderful, no complaints with her. The nurse, or whatever her official job is, was ok in my book as well. She just had the unfortunate task of being the middleman. I understand the position. The PA and/or doctor never bothered to investigate the situation as though an actual human being was out there in need of help. I wasnt in an ER begging for a fix. I was in an appointment that had been set up 2 weeks prior. I was completely honest about everything in my blood. I felt the doctor needed to know what I was on in case of potential drug interactions with anything they put me on. I left Southcoast because of much less severe sense of being nothing more than a name on a clipboard."FIRST, DO NO HARM"Good job.My fiance and mother both use this doctor. I cant stop them if they choose to support this type of behavior. I can, however, make sure that from now on whenever I get an opportunity to steer someone far away from this practice, I will go out of my way to do so.This is the worst Ive been treated by any medical professional, ever.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
