List of Lewis Collins's Reviews
Absolutely Amazing experience!Everyone in office was so welcoming and kind and Dr.Lewis truly one of the best dermatologist I've ever been too and I've been to many in my life. He was so kind, knowledgeable and put my mind at ease with his treatment. So happy to have found him and staff as my dermatologist.
I was very happy with my visit to Dr. Collins Jr.. The staff was very efficient.Getting an appointment was easy. In the office Dr. Collins was able to identify my problems and offer good solutions.I was very pleased with my visit and the outcome.
Questionable service:My wife was seen by Dr. Collins over a year ago due to melasma prognosis. We decided to pay out of pocket as Tricare (military insurance), does not covers these types of cosmetic treatments. So, Dr. Lewis prescribed a compound cream to treat her condition. After 6 months or so, no much improvement. Dr. Lewis released my wife as he stated there was nothing else he can do. He did not even recommended any other innovative treatment or medication, just released her. Absolute unprofessional behavior from a Dr. I suggest anyone to go somewhere else, we deserve better.
I am glad I did not read some of the negative reviews before I randomly picked a dermatologist, bc I probably would not have chosen Dr. Collins. I am happy to say that I am satisfied with my recent visit with Dr. Collins (and staff). I have been going to dermatologists for at least 10 years. However, I learned more in my 30 minutes with Dr. Collins that any other dermatologist. The staff engaged me in a professional manner. I did not feel rushed. When I first met Dr. Collins, he shook my hand and asked about my concerns. He allowed me to speak. In fact, we engaged in dialogue about my concerns. He provided important information, of which, I was never told before from my past dermatologists. While I am a new patient, I do understand things can change. So, until something changes and it makes me unsatisfied, I will continue to visit Dr. Collins (and staff).
Dr. Collins examined me throughly and explained my condition clearly. He was easy to understand. His office runs on time amd his staff is helpful.
Dr. Collins examined me throughly and explained what my options were. His office runs on thime and his staff was veryhelpful.
After 30 plus years of sun exposure from fishing to working outdoors sun damaged skin is the reason you become familiar with various dermatologist in the savannah area back again another biopsy another prescription and several stitches later you find yourself very aware of the damage your skin has suffered All this knowledge was gained from discussions with some of Savannahs great doctors of dermatology. By now you come to appreciate good appointments and a good appointment is when you leave your doctors office feeling you have gained more knowledge about your issues and how to deal with them because your doctor just took extra time explaining the course you should follow to achieve best results which overall improves your lifestyle . The last time i left Dr. Collins i left with the feeling that i had just experienced that GOOD APPOINTMENT and pride myself in the fact that after all these years i have found that GREAT DOCTOR i have been looking for so long..thank you
A truly trying experience with this doctor and his staff. I needed to see someone quickly and he was the only person with availability within two weeks' notice. (Now I understand why.)Extremely long wait times. I once waited 45+ minutes. After speaking with Dr. Collins for only 5 minutes or less, he said that he had other people waiting with more severe issues! He actually walked out of the room because he seemed agitated. Then he came back in and acted like everything was normal again and tried readdressing my issues. I have never seen a doctor behave like this. And as other reviewers have said, he speaks in a condescending manner and makes you feel like you are embellishing symptoms. I came back a few months later and was told I was seeing a PA rather than the doctor. No call/warning to ask if I wanted to reschedule and it didn't appear as though he was dealing with an emergency (which I would have understood). Even worse was my experience with his billing staff. An absolute nightmare. I contacted them over a period of six months to try rectifying a bill for lab work. They were uncooperative and even claimed they might have not received a letter from my insurance company because they have "multiple addresses and don't always check them all". They kept avoiding any work, deflecting the blame on me/other vendors, refusing to assist with a situation caused by incorrect coding. They also later wrongly billed a biopsy which I had to sort out directly. The billing manager even told me they weren't obligated to disclose my medical records to me (which I believe is within a patient's rights.) What kind of doctor withholds medical records from a patient? After all of this back and forth, the bill was finally changed in my favor. There is more but I will spare you. It was just one thing after another. Never again! Avoid!
On Scale 010 He is 11

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
