If I could give Dr. Bailey ten stars, I would! A freak accident whereby I aspirated an iron pill into my lung caused part of my lung to burn and the scarring prevented oxygen from getting to the surrounding tissue. The necrosis resulted in a serious case of pneumonia and after six weeks, my condition was life threatening. There was a chance of losing my entire right lung, but Dr. Bailey and his team were able to save all but the lower right lobe. He said it was one of the most inflamed, infected lungs he’d ever come across and I’m eternally grateful to him for restoring my health. After seven weeks, I’m now cycling again and back to almost new. For a relatively small city such as Savannah, I would have never guessed we’d have such a world class surgeon. Dr. Bailey is simply one of the best doctors and surgeons I’ve ever come across and I’m eternally grateful for his incredible care, professionalism and expertise. You’ll be in very good hands with him!
My experience with Dr. Bailey and his staff was outstanding. They accommodated my urgent need of having a pericardial cyst removed by scheduling surgery time from another physician as Dr. Bailey was already booked for the next two weeks. I had a complication with AFIB occurring after surgery and ended up in the ICU at St Josephs Candler. The care there was unlike any I have experienced. The team of nurses were so caring and constantly by my side. No one could ask for better care.
Fantastic experience! Dr. Bailey is very compassionate and wants the patient to have the best for themselves. He did my thoracic surgery and I'm very pleased with his services. He breaks things down so it's easy to understand.
Doctor Bailey is absolutely the best doctor for skill, thoroughness, and communicating with the patients and families. He deserves five stars. Sadly, due to the office staff disorganization, difficulty in getting timely appointments, appointment changes not communicated to patients, it is very frustrating trying to obtain care with this excellent surgeon. The notes in patient chart about staff having left phone messages on patient phone do not agree with the ATT records of our phones’ call logs.
Dr. Bailey and his PA are great at what they do. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because their staff does not relay correct information back to them. I called the office post op in pain and the nurse was supposed to call me back after reaching an on call physician because Bailey was not in office that week. She never called me back and wrote in the notes that I declined an appointment which is false. On behalf of Dr. Bailey and his PA, they were patient with me, preformed my surgery with minimal scarring.I do recommend Dr. Bailey as well as his staff. However, I do hope that his staff is educated about the importance of their patients. The pain I felt and was forced to deal with and having no help for an entire week was not necessary but I had to deal with due to her negligence.
My experience was great pre-op, but post op...not at all. I’m still in a lot of pain and I called 2 days ago. His nurse just tells me she will call me when she hears from him because he’s not calling back. So here’s to sitting through the weekend in a lot of pain because my surgical team does not seem to care about me after operating. Also, his nurse keeps saying my biopsy results aren’t there and I will find out about them at my appointment which is almost a month from my surgery.
Dr. Bailey was great at my post OP appointment. I didn’t not see him at all on the day of my surgery. Just his PA which smiled the entire time yanking my chest tube out. But anyways, I’m still in a lot of pain and called Baileys office two days ago where his nurse stated she would call me as soon as she heard fro him. I called back yesterday, and she stated he was not returning the calls. I get to spend the entire weekend in pain because they have not called me with a solution. They give you pain meds, but limited pain meds and then don’t help if your still experiencing post op pain. I do not recommend them if you want exceptional care throughout this entire process.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
