List of Roel M Laygo's Reviews
Dr. Laygo does an awesome job answering questions about my healthcare and giving referrals. Gloria and Susana provide prompt service as well.
Dr. Laygo and his staff are great. I've been a patient of his for 17yrs and have nothing but great things to say. His nurses Gloria and Susan are the best and very professional
I had a great experience with my appointment today. Gloria made me feel welcome and I really appreciate the care.
I think Dr. Lego is the best doctor I've had in years. He always listens and never rushes me during my visits. I now live in Athens most of the time and I travel down to Savannah for my checkups. Yes, you do have to wait a while to see the doctor. It can be frustrating, but for me he is a doctor worth waiting for. He takes his time to me about my care. I'm sure he's doing the same for other people. He is worth the wait and I'm grateful to have him for my doctor. As I mentioned above, I drive 4 hours for each visit. When I moved from Atlanta it took a long time for me to find a doctor I trusted. Joan Goldin
Dr Laygo has been awesome every time my family has seen him. A review for him would be 5 stars 100%. He has great bedside manor and really listens to his patients concerns, gives great feedback, and doesn’t make you feel like he’s just rushing through to get to the next patient BUT this office is horribly unprofessional and rude. Every time I’ve called I’m always told they will take a message or send a message. I have requested to be sent to the nurses voicemail and was told no. The policy is: it can take 48 hours for a response which is absolutely ridiculous. It should not take that long to return an established patients calls/address concerns. I wish he practiced at any other facility.
Dr. Laygo is a great physician! His nurses are attentive and friendly. The front desk staff has always been pleasant and efficient. My only issue is always waiting a long time for my appointment, regardless the time of day. My last appointment was scheduled at 0730 and I got there before 0715. I wasn’t called back until after 0745 and not seen until about 0815. I was one of the first appointments of the day, which also explains why my later appointments are very late. Healthcare is a difficult beast right now, and I don’t blame Dr. Laygo himself for this. With the shortage of practitioners and a large patient population, along with the fact that people are becoming less and less healthy, demanding more attention from their practitioners. All of this to say that Dr. Laygo is wonderful and attentive, but do not make your appointment for a day/time when you need to be somewhere.
I wish I could give him absolutely NO STARS! This is the worst primary care physician that I have ever experienced. There is always excuses with making an appointment. When I just called in reference to seeing him due to possibly having strep due to my kids being exposed and positive.. his nurses informed me that I should simply go to urgent care because he doesn’t want me in in the office coughing. When I explained that I have already went to urgent care and I was given a z pack for a sinus infection, the nurse stated that Dr. laygo stated the z pack should be enough and if I still needed care then I needed to go to urgent care again but he did not want to see me. I was also advised to see if my obgyn would test me since I’m pregnant. I have ALWAYS received the minimum care here and it continues to get worse. It’s sad that in times like this you have to beg Doctors to actually be doctors. I wish he would just retire and leave this profession because he has zero concerns for his patients.
Very bad service responding patient
I wouldn't recommend Dr. Laygo to anyone. My father has been seeing him for a few months and when I accompanied him to the appointment it was like listening to a stream of consciousness. No direction, no clarity, just vague ramblings. The breaking point was when my father went to see him last. He had been in for bloodwork a few days prior as his cholesterol was high and needed to be monitored. The doctor came in, asked my dad how his sugar was, and then looked surprised when my dad said he didn't have a sugar problem. He then asked how his cholesterol was without looking at the bloodwork. When he finally opened the bloodwork to look, he told my father he had diabetes. He did not give my newly diabetic father any further information on how to manage his diabetes (i.e. get a glucose monitor, record your levels at certain times of the day, etc), just to not eat as much bread. All of this in the space of about 5 minutes when my father had been waiting to see him over an hour. I wanted to change him to another physician in the practice given the circumstances, but it is not allowed. The Practice Manager was supposed to reach out to me, but that was a week ago and I don't expect anything. Highly unprofessional and a waste of time and resources.
Special thanks to Dr. Laygo, and his nursing staff for a job well done in making me feel safe about the care you provide for me as a patient. Thanks to Josette for her care and kindness.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
