Dimple Modi's Online Review Report Card

I found my “rushed and limited” time with Dr Modi disrespectful. With a disturbing dx I was wanting answers which I did not receive. Her body language and impatient demeanor told me she had other more important concerns besides mine. She may be quite intelligent but my consult did not leave me with that conclusion. Latest findings from the Macular Conference in Germany shows VEGF injections marginal at best and yet that was her only solution. Terrible interpersonal skills and definitely not a professional clinician

Misdiagnosed me. Had a detached retina. Was completely blind in one eye. She said NO. treated me for almost 3 months for something else.

Dr. Modi is listed as Carlin visions retina specialist. I had an appointment for dry eye symptoms with Carlin vision opthamologist when I suddenly and completely lost vision in one eye. A black cloud was all I could see. I immediately called Carlin vision and was told to come in tomorrow to see their retina specialist as she had a cancellation. Dr Modi assured me it was not a retina detachment but something else and gave me a shot in my eye. Scheduled me for an injection once per month. 2.5 months later I was still blind in that eye. Saw another retina specialist. Retina detachment. Immediate surgery. May have waited too long.

I've been seeing her for three years for a retinal trench. She has been unfailingly communicative, thoughtful and kind. Se sees me every four months and performs a complete exam. As a physician, I am well pleased.

I had been going to Dr Modi for awhile when the numbing drops were not working in my eyes and I felt horrific pain when I got the injections. When I asked her about it and whether there was something else she could give me to numb my eye before the injection she told me That I was welcome to see one of her colleagues. It was apparent that she did not want me to questioning her about this I did as she requested and am seeing someone else.

Dr. Modi completely blew me off, refused to see me again, and attempted to trivialize my symptoms when I was in severe pain from an eye infection which turned out to be ocular herpes. Because I was not correctly diagnosed and properly treated for about 2 1/2 weeks after I saw Dr. Modi initially, I was in agony for a longer period, had to take more time off work, and now have a scar on my cornea resulting in decreased visual acuity that I may not have if not for Dr. Modi's actions.
