Great experience. Nervous coming in and Dr. Gaines has such a great personality he took it all away. By far one the best experiences ever at a doctors office.

Dr. Gaines is an excellent and patient listener and is extremely skilled in explaining and presenting all treatment options. Dr. Gaines patiently answered my questions without talking down to me.
Everyone was friendly and efficient My problem was quickly diagnosed.
Currently experiencing knee pain from a previous problem - torn meniscus. As an established patient of Dr. Gaines I had no problem getting an appointment. Was scheduled same week I called. Knee was x-rayed and then I saw Dr. Gaines. He was easy to talk with and explained what was happening. Relieved I didn't need surgery. He gave me an injection which was almost painless. Advised me to continue with exercises prescribed previously and said he would refer me for therapy if problem did not resolve. Asked me to call him if I experienced continued problems. He is knowledgeable, patient, caring and an excellent physician. I definitely recommend him for any orthopedic problems you may experience. He has treated me in the past for the torn meniscus and also for bursitis in my hip so I am a definite repeat patient if I need an orthopedic physician.
His diagnosis and referral for physical therapy for aggravated rotator cuff in right shoulder was on target! He was thorough in checking out my right shoulder. He listened when I asked that a shot into my shoulder to relive pain and inflammation not be administered and give time for healing through physical therapy. Reassess in 3-4 weeks. A cortisone shot would pose a challenge to BG levels since I am a brittle diabetic!!!
I am VERY disappointed with all of my three medical appointments with Dr. Gaines. During each of my visit, Dr. Gaines showed no empathy towards my struggling with the pain issues. He appeared rather impatient and eager to have me dismissed at his earliest convenience. None of my conversations with him lasted for more than five minutes, though I really wanted to learn more from him on my treatment options and recovery plans. He also maintained zero communications with me when I requested a refill of a medication. I have been living in the city of Statesboro for a long time, and paid visits to many local doctors before. I like most of my doctors, who are treating their patients with decency, kindness and respect. By my appointments with Dr. Gaines are a total waste of my money and time. I can't recommend him to anyone I know in good conscience.
I am pleased with the facility and the professionalism of the staff members of Stateboro Optim in general, but I am VERY disappointed with all of my three appointments with Dr. Gaines. Dr. Gaines was very respectful and helpful he listened to what was going on with me and very willing to find out where to go next with my wrist. I would recommend Dr Gaines to anyone needing help.
Dr. Gaines was very respectful and helpful with any questions I had about my wrist. Dr Gaines explained my next options to fixing my wrist problems.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
