If you or your loved one is a senior citizen PLEASE DO NOT VISIT PIEDMONT HENRY emergency. Their treatment of seniors is awful. Seniors were brought to one side, everyone else on another. While younger patients were being called back under 1 hour of arriving. Seniors were being made to wait 4-6 hours before being called back to 'the other side'. On 3/4/21, I brought my dad in a little before 8:30pm. He was immediately called to triage. When they discovered his blood pressure was high they called him to the back to administer a pill and draw blood. Then he was told to wait to be called. During our over 3 he wait he vomited and his pain had worsen. When I alerted the nurses up front they informed me his blood pressure needed to be checked again after 1 hr of the medication. It had been 2 hrs. After waiting for another hour, I asked to speak to a Charge Nurse because this was becoming ridiculous. The male nurse I asked was rude and flip saying the wait can be up to 8 hrs because it's 2 sides. I asked for a Charge Nurse again. He goes on to say 'Aight I'll get somebody since you don't want to listen'. Had I not been there with my father things would have surely escalated. After I don't know how long the very rude nurse from the front desk brought a card and said "call this, they told me to give you this" He was eventually called to the back at Midnight. If he had not been in extreme pain I would have taken him to the VA hospital but Piedmont Henry was closest to my home. Never and I repeat NEVER will I ever come back to this hospital. Even if I was dying in the front, I would insist on going elsewhere. Horrible horrible experience and Piedmont Henry should be ashamed of themselves.
Worst emergency room visit ever. Wait times ridiculous for serious emergencies. Seems like staff was waiting on shift change. Waited 5 hours and still wasn't seen with stroke level blood pressure. My primary care doctor sent me to the ER, only to have to treat me since I wasn't seen. My primary care doctor was in shock that a blood pressure reading as high as mine wasn't taken seriously, especially given medical history. I will NEVER return. I will drive the hour to Fayetteville before I go back there.
I would never recommend this facility to anyone. Yes, I understand new measures are in place for Covid-19 safety; however, my experience has been nothing but horrible. I was asked to come in by my doctor due to appendix scare (I've been having abdominal pain for about 2 days). I sat in waiting room for an hour then to be called back to a room to sit for another hour with not even the nurse on call checking on me - asking what's going on , etc. They sent me to an area to take blood upon calling me back. When the doctor did peak in, literally poked his head in, he said sorry I have been in , there are a lot other patients here. I finally get a chance to talk to him , get a CT done and there's a nurse change. Here is is hour 4 of being here and the nurse rolls in and says I'm sorry I'm just now coming to see you.During this time, I was called back with another gentleman (White, same symptoms and I know this because the rooms are separated by curtains so I can gear everything). He was placed in room beside me. He was visited by the nurse 20 minutes to being put in room. Doctor came in and did a full exam with an hour. Nurse continually checked on him even the new nurse on shift. I've asked for pain meds 3 times now. They are finally putting an order in. I have yet to hear anything about the CT but I couldn't wait any longer to do this review. I will never come here again. I already have poor insurance with a $500 copay. I expect to be treated equally.

I have never been treated as poorly as I was on February 27, 2020, when I went into the ER and was seen by Dr. Marlon G. Fisher. Upon arrival, I was having a very odd and concerning olfactory symptom, which made me more and more distraught by the minute. Most people know that it could be a random occurrence or it could be a sign of something extremely serious. Because of my reaction, I understood when the nurse decided to put in a request to the doctor for an anxiety pill. (I am not sure of the nurses' thoughts and reactions; I do know they were polite and professional, for the most part.)When Dr. Fisher walked into the exam room he had his arms crossed and a very displeased expression. His tone was demeaning, impatient and he expressed no concern whatsoever. He said, "well, there's no smell in here." That was obvious, and was an ignorant and unprofessional reaction. He stood away from me and wasn't going to approach until my adult daughter spoke up and informed him that my reaction was very out of the ordinary for me. I'm a cancer patient who has had about 10 bone marrow biopsies, I've had a bone marrow transplant and I deal with chronic pain and battle several autoimmune disorders. I. do. not. ever. overreact. I am never inconsolable. Those reading this, if you suddenly smelled something foul (indescribably so) and it kept hitting you like waves, coming and going over more than an hour, how would you react? This doctor did not order any tests - no bloodwork, no x-rays, nothing. He put on the visit summary that my reason for visit was anxiety. My reason was the olfactory sensation or phantom smell or whatever you want to call it that caused the anxiety. I was told that I was not having an emergency and dismissed. If Dr. Fisher is a representative of the care Piedmont Henry emergency room shows their patient then the system needs to be re-evaluated. Obviously from other reviews, this department is severely lacking. This doctor is obnoxious, unconcerned and without bedside manner.
My grandmother is at this hospital and is being treated poorly by the staff and crew. Go to Fayette Medical Center.
I was recently admitted to Piedmont Henry Hospital as an emergency by ambulance on a Sunday night. I received excellent care. Had surgery the next morning and was in ICU for 3 days and in a regular room for 5 days. I had excellent service. The nurses and technical support were wonderful to me with only a couple of exceptions. Ninety percent of the staff were genuinely caring people. I recommend this hospital highly based on my experience. Also, I had no complaint with the food. It was very appetizing.
PATIENT BEWARE!!! If you are examined by a doctor affiliated with Piedmont Henry Hospital, but at a different location - not at Piedmont Henry - you will still receive a separate bill from Piedmont Henry! My aunt had an appointment with her Radiologist - who is Piedmont Henry doctor. But the examination took place at a different hospital, in a different city & county. She received 2 bills! - one from the Radiologist and one from Piedmont Henry! Even though they didn't use that facility. As a matter of fact, she's never been to Piedmont Henry - doesn't even know where it is. The other hospital - never billed her!
If I could give it a minus I would. Their emergency area is a joke. My daughter was in a bad car accident 12 hours ago and she's still waiting to get some help. They don't care and no one seems to be working even though there are quite a few employees here. Don't come here if you have any life threatening injuries.
Piedmont Henry sucks I brought my sister here and after 6 hours of waiting and she was labelled high priority still nothing, she was sent home sunday only for her symptoms to worsen without any testing being done. She's diabetic and has had discoloration to her feet and ankles with hardening with severe pain, while sitting in the ER with stabbing pain and tears no one seemed to care at all. Being that I know how Piedmont should care for the patient, I am deeply saddened to say that I am extremely disappointed needless to say. As I watched her suffer in pain while the ER cleared but were continuously told no rooms were available. I am in awe and at this time ashamed to say I work for this institution as I always etify the care that we give to only be overlooked. We will never visit Piedmont Henry AGAIN!!!!! My rating is a zero and not because we weren't seen in a timely fashion, but the overall visit of patient care, although some nurses were nice, but nothing was resolved.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
