THE STROKE POSTERS ARE A JOKE. (They dont use them)I went to Piedmont Henry ER on 11/7.Upon entering:-I had trouble walking - I fell into a chair in the lobby. The woman next to me jumped up and told them I needed a wheelchair.- I told them my head was throbbing.-I told the nurse the lights made my headache worse- I requested a funnel (I was vomiting)-I told them I couldn’t swallow- my breathing was off- I told the triage nurse something was wrong with my face- verbatim “the left side was tired looking and the right side seemed very awake”- I told the nurse the right side of my body was numb and couldn’t get warm like the left side of my bodyShe wrote down I had an “acute inconclusive headache”-migraine and chest pain.I had a cerebellar stroke. I’m not even 35 yet.Though I did receive an EKG and Head CT that night after waiting hours.... A simple stroke test (the posters are everywhere) would have helped. Correctly triaging me would have been effective. How do I know I had a stroke? I went back on 11/7/21- (all the same symptoms except no vomiting) my aunt had to come with me and PRESS for an MRI. That’s when they found it- on 11/7- I had a cerebellar stroke. I was told it was a”tricky presentation”. I was admitted to ICUPoor communicationPoor bedside manner- the nurse SNATCHED my IV out of my numb arm and had blood all over my discharge clothing and bed sheets and didn’t apologize or change the bedding. My other arm bruised so badly from the way the nurse haphazardly kept poking me.Not a healing environment-Imagine being rolled to radiology and nurses are standing around talking about another nurse’s hair.-The father of the patient (teen) next to me had to get security called down because he cursed out the entire staffI’m thankful for the individuals who showed compassion and respect towards me: (Claire, Stefawn, Shannan Lee,and Neil especially)But for real- find the next closest hospital. Don’t pay to be treated this way or worse- die.
I waited in the emergency waiting room for almost 3 hours and I came in for a head injury and needed an immediate CT scan (was not seen by the way) the front desk associates were not very friendly nor displayed any traits of good customer service. No empathy. No update on times when I might be seen. I requested to speak to a nurse as I had questions about my head injury and was refused by the front desk receptionist. Her words verbatim “no one can or will help you, you have to wait”. Which is a little baffling. She actually increasingly made things more frustrating for myself as well as other patients. I also sat next to a man who arrived at 8:30 am to be seen and broke down in tears crying because he was in so much pain and it was almost 4pm. A grown man pleading for his life. I encourage you to please go elsewhere. They have no regard for your pain or life. You might not make it if you seek care here. Please save your time, money, and more importantly yourself.
Omg, the wait is terrible, someone will have to die before you receive care. People are sick every where and they don't have staff nor bed/room to accommodate you, it's awful.
I came to Piedmont Henry Hospital to deliver my baby on 12/6/2021 and I’m so grateful that I chose them. During my visit and stay here, I encountered many great doctors and nurses at the OBGYN/maternity floor. I personally want to thank Natasha Devonish (RN), Tamara (RN), and Kristen (RN). These nurses truly went above and beyond to help us while we were admitted here and answer all our questions. Staff like them make a huge difference in an institution and healthcare facility. Thank you for all you do for our mothers and babies
The hospital is full of teams of Angel healers. My husband is there now in a heart failure emergency. They know what they are doing and will do all they can to save his life. I am very pleased. Yes, i am living on faith. I know the good Lord, God is on the job, right now, with those special Piedmont Henry Hospital professionals. Prayers for his survival are always appreciated. Bye, for now...
Hospital Doctors assigned are awful and don't listen. They write orders and don't tell patients nor staff causing phone calls to Administration by patient and family. Nurses get frustrated trying to manage as Dr doesn't return phone calls and situation gets unmanageable. Withheld IV fluids which on previous admission cause renal failure and caused hypertension with unnecessary IV hypertensive medicines 💊 that could have been prevented if Drs had listened to patient and family. Unfortunately regular Drs are not informed nor notified of patient admission to help advise on patient care. A patient with history of RSD and multiple neuropathy along with anesthesia hyperemesis was totally ignored by hospital Dr which again caused calling in a nephrologist for their neglectful noncaring care. I only give 2 stars as the nursing Staff is excellent though the hospital Dr suxed and never communicated with Patient nor staff til reported to Administration multiple times.
I went to Piedmont Henry ER on Saturday afternoon at 2:20 p.m. I had severe upper right stomach pain. I literally sat there for 8 and a half hours. I saw many people coming in after me and leaving before me. I went to the desk. I was told that I needed to see a "real" doctor because of my condition. I guess meaning no PA. I was then told I was competing with the people brought there by ambulance. I told the woman "okay, I will call 911, walk to the door and let them wheel around to the ambulance entrance. She said that wouldn't work because if someone were more sick, they would see them first. I told her I had talked to a woman that had her mother brought in by ambulance because she had a lot of pain in her right ankle after twisting it!!!! She came in two hours after me and was being released shortly! At last a nurse came out and said she had spoken with the Dr. and I was going to need a CAT scan but there still was no guarantee when I could see the doctor or get a room. I had been telling them the whole time that I needed a CAT scan. Long story short, I was released 15 hours later. The ONLY reason I give this review 2 stars is because Dr. Fisher and the RN Lupe were so very nice. Forget the others!!
Worse experience of MY LIFE!!!!!! The only reason I came to here is because my Primary Care Told me to go to the ER!!! I have all Covid symptoms but haven’t tested positive for Covid-19 and my PCP WANTED TO BE SURE MY BLOOD WASNt CLOTTTING SINCE I THREw UP BLOOD CLOTS A FEW DAYS AGO… btw I’m still sitting here freezing with body aches and a temp of 103.2 and I had to sit outside… I’ve been here since 4:44 pm and it’s now 11:37 and I still haven’t been seen… even definitely my health and life isn’t jeopardize or a priority… not to mention my back is hurting and I can’t get comfortable… THIS IS WORSE THAN GRADY!!!! I hope and PRAY I DONT DIE SOON… because I just wana go home and get back in my bed at this point!!!This place should definitely be SHUT DOWN ASAP!!I’m sooooo disappointed 😔 and I’m in so much pain..: I just wana feel better
The absolute worst brought my Friend here too be seen.. they took her back in triage 21/2 hour’s gone by I go to the nurse station she lost they have no ideal where she is at them tell me to look in the waiting room we’re I’ve been the whole time these ppl I would have been better to take her to Grady don’t come here now getting a call about her completing her Registration….how about you find her first TF……why take a job if your not committed would love to give a -5 Stars
Things have certainly changed since I was a young kid and through my teen years. This hospital has no intentions of helping you when you go to the ER for things that could possibly be life threatening. I was and still am losing blood the last time I went back in September 2021. I sat for hours in the waiting room even though I was told I would be fast tracked and never did. Once I eventually made it to the screening room, I was told “that there was nothing wrong with me and there was nothing that they could do for me unless I was bleeding out or dying. Covid is their number one priority she said.” I waited almost an our to be discharged. I showed them pictures of blood I was loosing, still didn’t matter. Unless you are a Covid patient you don’t matter it seems. My wait time was 11am to approximately 6pm. Certainly do not go if you don’t have insurance, they will still make thousands off of you by just talking to you.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
