Internal Medicine Associates Of Johns Creek's Online Review Report Card

My mom was recently diagnosed with COVID and her doctor, Samantha Benson has done very little to respond. She called in a prescription finally after multiple calls and upon her having multiple complications related to covid we reached back out to her nurse. No response. We reached out to our family dermatologist for suggestions who was extremely helpful and texting her everyday. Three days passed and still no word from Samantha Benson. Internal Medicine and Associates DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS. You are just money to them and it is so inhumane how they treat people there. I never write reviews but I would hate to see someone or their family member struggle under her care. Once we finally got a hold of them they informed my mom that she needed to go to the ER and no help further. They even told me on the phone that Samantha Benson was off on wednesdays so they could only put me in touch with her nurse and they would let me know when they could reach out??? after three days of no communication they couldn't even tell me when a nurse would reach out. My mom is now fighting for her life in the ER and I blaim the misguidance and lack of attention by Samantha Benson entirely. Do not place your life in the hands of anyone who prioritizes their day off more than your life and your health. A disgrace to medicine and a dismissive attitude towards human life. I feel so strongly that if you found this review helpful please reach out to me directly and I will give you the contact of our new doctor. If I could give this practice 0 stars I would.

I really don't like to leave bad reviews but when the service is not up to par I feel it's necessary so others know and perhaps to give the practice a chance to improve. They were good when I first joined years ago but in the past 3 years they have steadily declined. 1. Dr's / PA have quit. This is what made the practice great in the beginning. They cared and would listen and actually knew who you were and followed up. Now, you're constantly having to chase them for renewals, rx, approvals, diagnosis, next steps because they don't know you.   RX aren't followed up upon or takes forever to get renewal, takes weeks to get an appt, months for routine appt, every year they tell me I don't need a physical exam when I use to have one at least every year and the pap every other year (it just feels like they just don't want to do it), dropped the ball on approving Rx, It could be that they are victim of their own success. Too many patients, even though they no longer take new patients.  I don't ever see a Dr or a RN any more, it's always a PA. 2. Their front desk check in people are annoying. I feel like it's not a genuine atmosphere3.  Their Phlebotomist is rough when they take your blood and so grumpy when she does it4. there is ALWAY ALWAYS ALWAYS an hour wait even if you get there 5-10mins early and checked in.  Only way to avoid this is if you are the first appts of the day.  5.They tend to fob you off to specialists because it is "beyond their scope" but then don't recommend any specialists.  I really hate to have to look for a new dr practice but it looks like i may have to.  I wish I didnt have to.

I see Heather, but Everyone here is amazing. They take the time to truly review your health history, and seem to care. They don’t just rush you out to get to the next patient like a lot of places

IMA of John's Creek is amazing. I have been going there for years. However, I was recently scheduled to see Hannah Cummings. One of the worst visits of my 46 years of life. Hannah is not ADD or ADHD friendly. She took me off of medicine that my long-time MD prescribed me and thus, sent me into a medical roller coaster. She prescribed me pharmacy within 30 miles of my home carried and my insurance wouldn't cover (it's similar to Adderall but with no generic). Her reasoning was to lower my daily dosage. All fine and well. I was instructed to contact my insurance company to see what alternatives to the new prescription they would cover. After 4 days of attempting to reach her or her assistant, I finally went to the office only to have her refuse to speak to me. She prescribed me 30mg instant release tablets 2x per day versus the extended release. (Which is lower than previous dose... so mission seemingly accomplished). If you are familiar with ADHD medicines, you know that this results in an up and down effect compared to a plateau. Why would someone want to do this to anyone. It's hell!! She refuses to explain her logic. I have been with the same practice for 13 years and hate to leave them, but this experience is just too much. Even my pharmacist was surprised. Will NOT see her again.

Awful staff...

The staff here is awful. Paying hundreds of dollars to have appointments cancelled, then get hung up on when trying to reschedule. Then given attitude like "I" did something wrong from the doctor's assistant.  Really!?! Its to bad, loved my Doctor but its just not worth it. You have to ask yourself, how good is a doctor that surrounds themselves with such a staff. Am I worth more than this? As a patient? How about as a paying customer? Anyone remember that we pay for this? Not the staff at Internal Medicine Associate of Johns Creek....

Great practice! Hannah Cummings goes above and beyond, is very knowledgeable, has a great bed-side manner - and actually replies personally and in a timely manner to patient-portal messages! (This is a much better experience than I've had with other Drs). I've seen other PA/NPs there, and they were good too. The front-office staff is very nice too.

I'm a young adult. This was my first "adult" PCP and I went to it for a few years. The service was never spectacular and they waved away a lot of my concerns and pains due to "being young." I practically had to pry answers out of them and beg them to listen to me when something was wrong. Nobody ever seemed to care and I would get generic answers for everything.Eventually, after getting told off for cancelling appointments that I never made, I decided to switch. I found a new PCP, and it made a WORLD of difference. The doctor at the other place asked me so many questions about my mental and physical situation and provided me with so many answers and solutions. I knew Internal Medicine of Johns Creek hadn't been great, but I wasn't aware just how much I had been missing out on!In short, I do not recommend Internal Medicine of Johns Creek - ESPECIALLY if you are on the younger side. Everyone is pleasant, but I got no real help or results from them. I probably could have prevented a lot of issues if I had gone to another doctor earlier.

Dr Edwards has been my Dr for the past 4-5 years. She is professional, smart, kind and always takes as much time with you as you need. Her staff is fabulous, and always calls you back with results and answers. A year ago I asked them to take on the care of my special needs son Brandon, which would require additional work for Dr Edwards staff because of where Brandon lives. They accepted him and treat him with dignity and respect and have done a great job with the additional paperwork required.

This is just about the worst excuse for a physician's practice I've seen. The They are happy to take your insurance company's money for your yearly well visit, but when there's any chance that you might be sick, they refuse to see you. Avoid this practice at all costs if you actually want to have decent care. There are plenty of good physician practices in Forsyth county, but this group isn't one.
