List of University Health Care System's Reviews
I was very hesitant for my orthopedic surgeon to only use this hospital based on the reviews. However, my experience was nothing like some of these reviews. The day surgery experience was excellent. The nurses were phenomenal. I didn’t feel we like anyone was rushed and everyone was very thorough and took their time to keep me comfortable. I honestly felt like the experience with day surgery here was even more thorough than they experiences I’ve had at the main university. I would 💯 recommend this hospital if you have a surgeon who can do procedures here. The ER did look very busy however we were smack in the middle of another COVID spike when I was there. ALL ERs in the area are outrageous during this time. This is also a smaller hospital which does mean less rooms therefore the waits could possibly be longer. It also seems that most of the hospitals in our area have poor reviews, a lot of the reviews have to do with ER wait times all over.Overall the experience here was great. I was very thankful to have a procedure done here.
Very good
WENT TO THE ER HERE FOR MY SPINE. I HAD SPINE SURGERY A FEW YEARS BACK AND JUST THIS YEAR 2021 STARTED MY CAREER AGAIN OF DRIVING TRACTOR TRAILERS. LONG STORY SHORT I WENT IN WITH PAIN ON MY LEFT SIDE.. USUALLY I CAN EITHER TAKE MY MEDICATION TO STOP PAIN OR USE MY MACHINE T3000 EVEN ICE OR HEAT. WELL THIS TIME I COULD NOT GET THE PAIN TO STOP SO I KNEW SOMETHING ELSE WAS WRONG. WENT TO UNIVERSITY MCDUFFIE FOR. HELP. ALL I NEEDED WAS A NON OPOID TYPE SHOP TO HOPEFULLY HELP WITH PAIN. THERE DR. WHICH I HAVE VIDEO THAT I WILL BE SENDING TO THE NEWS AND POSTING TO MY SOCIAL MEDIA STARTS WITH AN ATTITUDE AS IF I WANTED MORE MEDS. I HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH MEDS. I NEED AN X-RAY TO SEE IF MY SPINE MAY BE DAMAGED MORE OR SOMETHING SINCE DRIVING AGAIN. HE STARTS YELLING ACTING ALL UNPROFESSIONAL WITH LACK OF CONCERN FOR MY ISSUE EVEN PUT ME OUT . GOT SEEN BY ANOTHER DR. AND COME TO FIND OUT ITS A PROBLEM WITH THE BONES BELOW MY SURGERY DUE TO DRIVING TRUCKS AMONG OTHER THINGS. THIS DR. WILL BE PUT ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA FOR BEING AN EMBARRASSMENT TO HIMSELF AND THE HOSPITAL. LAW SUIT COMING FOR REFUSING TO TREAT ME ALSO
Incredibly rude and unprofessional. Never in my life had someone concerned about Covid get in my face to yell at me. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to take a soul there not even a babydoll. Insanity.
i had a seizure and they did nothing
This so called hospital is the worst it could be. The ER is absolutely a joke. You sign in then you sit for 5to 8 hrs waiting to see the 1 doctor that is there! Or you may not see anyone because you’ll die in the waiting room. Oh but let someone come in with COVID and they will take them right back after a few hours!! What can be done when you have it? No issues breathing or any other symptoms that everyone else has but when someone is sitting their bleeding and may lose a limb that ain’t important! What a joke for a so called hospital ! Mcduffie hospital was 100 times better at least you saw someone when you went to the ER in a timely matter. So I really don’t want to give a 1 as a review it needs to be0. 3 people actually left to go to a different hospital!! What’s that tell you about University/ Piedmont !!! Oh but wait, you can calls about your BILL being due!!!! Don’t Go To University McDuffie if you need ER help !
They need to shut this joke of a hospital down
The er nurse that answered the phone line @4:45 on Wednesday 8/25 was absolutely rude. Do you wonder why y'all have a 2.2 star rating? Get better qualified people and people with common courtesy. Absolutely disrespectful tasteless receptionist in the er
Horrible! Unprofessional! Stay away! I try to have some understanding and give people the benefit of the doubt, but this place is a nightmare come true. I absolutely hate this dreadful place and hope it either gets shut down or has a new medical staff hired.Straight to the point - Any time someone says something will take 5 to 10 minutes they really mean 1 or 2 hours. This is not an exaggeration developed from emotions; this is the truth. The staff is just awful when it comes to how they treat their patients. My grandmother was treated like an animal. She was not greeted by any of the nurses or the doctor at any time. Every time they needed to adjust her, they did it roughly without communicating any concern for her well being. They had negative attitudes when you ask them questions, almost like you are bothering them. They kept using phrases like "well, she's 87" which is neither helpful nor nice. The whole experience was terrible and I would warn anyone coming here to brace yourself for lackluster treatment from people who don't know the first thing about caring for others. On a positive note, the janitor was kind. He nicely asked us to move while he was mopping and joked with my uncle about playing musical chairs. He had more kindness than all of the staff here combined. Also, the lady at the front desk was kind and professional. It doesn't help the review though considering the reason we went here in the first place.** UPDATE** NO, you will NOT contact my grandmother. You will not be able to smooth things over with a phone call. The best thing you can do is treat new customers with the respect and care that they deserve. THAT is what people expect. Not a phone call AFTER the damage was done. You say you "MISSED THE MARK"?!?!?! - We all know that is just a political way of not owning anything at all. COULD HAVE DONE BETTER?? My grandmother was in serious pain when she was there being treated like that. I think you know what you SHOULD have done better. You are proving my point with your incompetent response. you even ask for a phone number publicly as if I would actually share it. LOL
I guess in a way I understand their policy of no visitors under 18 in the ER. But I know there are tons of people who don't always have someone that can watch their kid(s), myself included. And when I need to bring my 80 year old Grandma to the ER, who also has dementia, and I'm not allowed to be there, it's extremely frustrating. They don't even allow anyone to sit in the lobby and maybe my complaint is invalid, but this just causes more uncertainty in an already stressful situation

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
