WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE FOR ATLANTA MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY, SPECIFICALLY DR. NATHAN MORDEL AND HIS OFFICE MANAGER, FREEDOM MITCHELL. I had been plagued by fibroids since 2003, in which I was carrying my first born and was told my pregnancy was high risk. In fact, at that time, I was advised by my doctor that a fibroid was next to my daughter’s head, in my womb, when the ultrasound was taken. Consequently, she told me that after my pregnancy, the fibroids would eventually shrink and would not give me any issues. However, after giving birth to my daughter, the fibroids did not shrink as anticipated, and in fact, they became symptomatic. I am a firm believer that my fibroids became symptomatic because of my negligence in self-care and most importantly, my negligence in wholeheartedly serving God. Therefore, instead of allowing Him (Yahweh) to help me handle situations in His way, I handled situations by allowing my sinful nature to take over. Bickering, quarreling, arguing, bitterness, resentment, anger, became common place in my relationships. I had no idea, during those turbulent times that every angry word I spoke, or negative thought, which I looped in my brain, fueled stress, produced clinical depression/anxiety/insomnia, increased cortisol levels, and increased the estrogen in my body. (BTW through my own research, I discovered that high estrogen levels (estrogen dominance) are one of the many factors that leads to inflammation and is a catalyst for fibroids, endometriosis, menorrhagia…the list goes on). While contributing to the unhealthy relationships in my life, I went back to school to earn my undergraduate degree and became pregnant again. The day after my second daughter was born, I had a tubal ligation. Subsequently, the day after having my tubal ligation, I was discharged from the hospital with my second daughter and that same night, I was at the computer frantically typing my final term paper that would lead me to earn my Master’s degree. I say this in an attempt, not to receive kudos or praise, but more of a plea to my sisters, both ethnic and non-ethnic: SELF-CARE, to include (spiritual, psychological, physiological, sociological, emotional & mental health) SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN FOR GRANTED OR PUT OFF FOR SOME LATER TIME IN LIFE. Unfortunately, about 19 years later, I walked into Dr. Mordel’s office with numerous fibroids and a hemoglobin at 5.5. At first, Ms. Freedom advised that I would not be able to have surgery before 2022 was over. HOWEVER, I GIVE ALL PRAISES, GLORY AND HONOR TO GOD, AND HIS HOLY SPIRIT, WHICH WORKED THROUGH MS. FREEDOM MITCHELL. She was able to schedule my surgery for November. In addition, Dr. Mordel & FREEDOM, reached out and teamed up with DR. SAMANTHA SHAMS, FROM THE PIEDMONT CANCER INSTITUTE, to get my hemoglobin levels where they needed to be. Through a blood transfusion and a series of iron infusions, Dr. Shams & the Piedmont Cancer Institute team were able to get my levels up to a 9.5, which allowed me to have my surgery with Dr. Mordel. The day after Thanksgiving, Dr. Mordel and his team successfully removed the fibroids, and he left the mesh intact, from a hernia surgery that I had in 2008. All the nurses, from Piedmont Hospital were EXTREMELY amazing as well. I KNOW THAT YAHWEH YIREH (THE LORD WILL PROVIDE/THE LORD IS MY PROIVIDER) PROVIDED A WAY TO DELIVER ME FROM YEARS OF SUFFERING FROM FIBROIDS. HE PROVIDED AND PLACED DR. MORDEL & MS. FREEDOM IN MY PATH. I ALSO WANT TO THANK DR. JOHN REYES, WHO PERFORMS LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY AS WELL, FROM MODERN OBSTETRICS & GYNECOLOGY, IN ALPHARETTA, GA. Dr. Reyes bestowed upon me excellent wisdom and counseling, by encouraging me to go to Dr. Mordel, given the size of my uterus and the size of the fibroids.
I had a myomectomy in July and I was so excited the pain I've been experiencing would be gone. Dr. Mordel is an excellent surgeon, but the only issue I had with the entire procedure is the lack of communication. I've had surgery before, but I've never experienced post surgery symptoms I've had with this surgery. I've noticed certain foods cause pain where I had surgery, but none of that was discussed with me. Talking to his staff/asking questions about my symotoms, etc., I had is pointless because not only do they not know, I find some of them to be very condescending at times. Just my personal opinion.
Dr. Mordel performed my robotic myomectomy to remove my fibroids and endometriosis after over a year and a half of debilitating symptoms. Med device reps who work with Dr. Mordel recommended him to me and after a failed Myosure procedure and my general GYN telling me she could not do anything more to help me I ended up in his care. His front office staff must've heard my desperation on the phone, because they kindly got me in for an earlier appointment. I had to wait a few months for my surgery because Dr. Mordel is highly sought after, but the wait was worth it. #1 in importance to me are safe and effective clinical outcomes, however Dr. Mordel is also very compassionate. When I was brought into the OR, he held my hand while the staff got me prepped and I was anesthetized. I did not expect this and really showed me that he cares for his patients. I highly recommend Dr. Mordel and his entire office staff. I am only a week post-op but looking forward to getting my life back! Thank you Dr. Mordel!
Dr. Mordel and his staff were amazing. I highly recommend his services when consulting a physician about a hysterectomy. My procedure was minimally invasive and the staff at Piedmont was awesome. They made the entire procedure seamless and I went home on the same day.
Never got to schedule appointment
this review nt even worth a one star tbh. called back in january (I think) & made an appt. after searching a while for a doctor that does a specific type of surgery. SPECIFICALLY ASKED did they take my insurances. I was told YES by the lady they have responsible for answering patients/potential patients questions. Instead of allowing me to specify my exact plan, i was given an answer based on hearing what company it was with. Waited almost 3 months for my appointment only to be told when I got there they didn’t take my insurance 🤯. Now i’m back at square one of a situation that could of been avoided MONTHS AGO. So much I wanted to say but i’m humbled myself & left. Also would like to mention that I was never given a courtesy call/email/txt to remind me of my appt , I had to call them to make sure I was still dwn for my visit 😑. That right there just let’s me know that this wasn’t the place for me & i’ll never return even if I do get insurance that’s covered by them!
Dr. Mordel was great! Very sweet and informative and gave me a lot of feedback about what I had going on. As for the front desk representative, she seemed very unsatisfied that I did not have my physical insurance card with me. I was never told to have my physical insurance card in hand prior to my visit (I’ve never had it, I’ve always used my patient portal copy). She said they could not accept it from my phone. Long story short, it was a lot of back and forth but eventually she just allowed me to email it and I was able to be seen. I’ve just never had an issue about this before.
Dr Nathan Mordel and staff is AWESOME. I was highly recommended to him by another physician that couldn't help me. During my first visit and an overview of my medical records Dr. Mordel did not hesitate to help me. He's my guardian angel and I believe saved my life. I highly recommend Dr. Mordel. Trust him and the process, he's an expert. My pain was minimal and my surgery was very difficult. THANK YOU AGAIN AND AGAIN Dr. Mordel and staff.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a myomectomy and salpingectomy 2/22/22. When I say Dr. Mordel is an earthly angel, because he truly saved my life. He is very genuine & compassionate and he is a beast at his profession. My surgery went awesome, my scars are very small and the pain is at a minimal. I just can't believe how good I feel being 2 weeks post surgery. I have to remind myself that I'm still im recovery. Freedom M. Is the office manager and she does her job very well! She was so knowledgeable and helpful with the process of getting my documents prepared prior to surgery. Any questions or concerns that I had she made sure to adress them. Freedom could tell through the constant email and phone calls that I was concerned with the procedure. She also knew I was fearful as well. However, she reassured me that its a process and everything would be just find and if I needed to contact her for any reason, not to hesitate. Nichole, the nurse is amazing! She took care of all my documents in a timely manner. She communicated with me and other parties to complete all requests that was requested of her. She never made me feel like I was bothering or rushing her to complete documents. From the time I made my first appointment Naima, at the front desk has always been very nice and pleasant. She was patient with me as a first time patient, and greets you with warmth and a smile everytime I come to the office. Once you're called to the back, Nedra will triage and make you feel relaxed and comfortable before seeing the doctor. She never rushes you or make you feel like you are taking to long for her to get the next patient. Overall, Dr. Mordel and the ladies at the Atlanta location are heaven sent. I wish I new about Dr. MORDEL12 YRS PRIOR! He is what you call a real life saver! I feel blessed to have come in contact with everyone of these wonderful people 🦋🦋!
I have seen Dr. Mordel due to being a patient at The Howard Center. He is rude and condescending. I asked for a different Dr. since I didn't care for Dr. Mordel's demeanor but the Howard Center still put me with him. Thankfully he did refer me to a Dr. in Savannah which was fantastic! Dr. Burke saw me right away and got me scheduled for laparoscopic surgery and all is good. I will NOT ever got back to Mordel or Howard Center.
