Stewart Family Practice's Online Review Report Card

Their not responsive and its hard to get in contact with someone about my labs. They seem to be “stuck in time” a little bit. Very old school and thats what attracted me, but I shouldve taken that as a red flag.

Family physician for over 30 years. Nothing more need be said.

Would not recommend. Doctor is OK. Can’t say anymore than OK. Definitely nothing special. Triple check any work they do and ask what tests they are running. They will run every test they can and you will get a very large bill from the Lab for work you never requested and they will say it’s standard practice. Pre authorization with insurance company wasn’t done. Ran $800 in lab work half of which most insurance companies done cover. Triple check everything. Also never calls you about results. There will be notes in the file from the doctor but no one ever reached out to tell me what the doctors said about my blood work. Don’t really recommend unless you have no other option.

It pains me to write this review, but after the difficulty I have experienced with getting paperwork to be submitted for my short term disability claim, I feel a review is long overdue. I have been a patient of Dr. Stewart's for a few years now. My mother has been a patient of his for decades. Dr. Stewart is an amazing doctor. He listens, and he genuinely works in the best interest of his patients. The reason for the 1 star review lies with his staff. For nearly a month now, I have tried to get the paperwork that's requested by the company my job uses for disability completed by Dr. Stewart. But because of the receptionist, my paperwork still hasn't been completed. When trying to work with her, she wouldn't communicate with me effectively. Instead, she would only tell me the paperwork is on the desk waiting to be signed. She failed to mention that there were required documents needed in order for the paperwork to be completed. I reached out to both my orthopedist and physical therapist, and had them fax over the information. However, despite there being receipts of this information being sent over numerous times, the office staff says they never received any information. I emailed the documentation, but the receptionist failed to tell me that one of the documents emailed was the incorrect form. Yesterday on 3/30, a different receptionist answered the phone. She told me the document has to come straight from the orthopedist's office with their header, not from the patient portal. If the other receptionist told me this weeks ago, I would have reached out to the orthopedist to see if they could try to send the information over to them via fax once more. The orthopedist then tells me they faxed over numerous documents on two occasions. Dr. Stewart's staff failed to let me know this information in a timely manner. The orthopedist's office was able to email the information they requested. So today, on 3/31, I reached out to Dr. Stewart's office to see if they can finally send the paperwork in to Sedgwick. I again reiterate the importance of having this sent immediately, as the paperwork was due 2 days ago. My claim is still pending nearly a month later and I have gone without pay due to numerous delays because of the receptionist. I tell her I was frustrated because effective communication could have prevented the issue I'm currently experiencing. She tells me the delay was due to Dr. Stewart not having the paperwork. I then tell her if she would have returned my calls and told me what was missing, I would have reached out to my orthopedist weeks ago to have them send over the documentation via email. I then tell her I would like to schedule a virtual visit with Dr. Stewart. I was placed on a long hold, before the line went to the automated message saying to leave a voicemail message. From 3/10-3/31, I have not been able to be properly assisted nor has my paperwork been completed due to the receptionist. As I type this, I have tried calling back to speak to someone, and the line just disconnected once more. Although Dr. Stewart is an amazing doctor, the staff he has will be the main reason as to why I will not come back to his office. Update* Dr. Stewart called me personally, and after all the trouble I've been through trying to get the paperwork submitted, he tells me he can only give me one week of short term leave. He also didn't listen to me when I told him about the issues I've had with his staff regarding the paperwork, and the fact that they hung up on me. I have carpal tunnel on top of cervical spondylosis that has worsened. I will never step foot back into his office.

Dr. Stewart is a wonderful doctor. You never feel rushed and he (I believe), really cares about his patients. His staff is very professional but also friendly. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. The Whiteheads

Dr Stewart has been our family dr for over 10 years. We LOVE him! He’s very good. His bedside manner is excellent, his office staff always gets us in when we are sick with flu or strep throat, and Dr Stewart ALWAYS GETS US well! He has referred me as well as my husband to several different drs, for colonoscopies, and various other issues. He does our annual exams every year and all of our checkups. Dr Stewart is a wonderful doctor. Thanks for taking care of my family doc!!!!
