List of Melanie D. Shorter Jones's Reviews
I love Dr Shorter and staff is always nice & welcoming to me. When I need prescription refills or referrals they were always so prompt with my request. Dr. Shorter is very kind, patient and knowledgeable she doesn't rush you at all.
I do not understand how it can take several months and multiple phone calls to try to get a prescription refilled. All I need is a PA and I cannot get it. I am out of the medication and have been for over a month. I guess I'll be sitting in her office if I get a migraine. Maybe I can get some relief then. Poor communication and lack of concern. Do better.
The worst at communicating with patients. Got the run around for 2 weeks regarding not having my mammogram results and I had to drive to the hospital to pick them up myself. Come to find out they did have them the entire time they told me they didn't. Been waiting 2 months for migraine meds, never sent the PA like I was told they did. Still calling them to get them to send it over to my insurance. They did give me an Aimovig sample, it expired in 2021! If you're looking for a doctor and staff to care and do what they need to do, this isn't the place to go. Lesson learned. Wish I could give zero stars...
Have been happy with Dr shorter until today. She said let's make a deal, if u take this test then I'll give u a zpack for ur sinus infection. I said what!? This isn't a game show! This is a Dr and patient, we don't make deals! She said so if we don't have a deal then I can't prescribe u a zpack for ur sinus infection! Still wants to charge me a copay for absolutely nothing! Time to part ways with this one because she lost her mind!
The office staff is rude and unprofessional.
Excellent doctor!
I am a new patient and I only had one visit with Dr. Shorter. She is a sweet, caring doctor but some of her staff are another story. I received a physical with bloodwork done in July 2020. I called numerous times for 7 months. Today February 3, 2021, I called again in an attempt to receive my results only to be told there's no record of my labs being done. So my blood was taken and never submitted to Quest to review. On one of my many calls for a callback from a nurse or Dr. Shorter, I was told by the receptionist, " Well we can't physically make the nurses or doctor call you back." That is the most rudest response to give a patient concerned about her health that I have ever received. It should not have taken 7 months to be told there are no labs on record for me. That's totally unacceptable and for that reason, I am looking for another physician.
Great Doctor
Dr. Shorter has been very good at treating me for over 10yrs. She listens to what you are actually telling her then she will either explain or help you find the cause.
This has to be the WORST doctor’s office in middle Georgia. I came to be seen about chest congestion. Ended up having 5 visits totaling to $250 and still to this day they can’t tell me what’s wrong. They started posting your records in the Healow app, when I received the email I logged in and saw some test results that were never giving to me saying I had brain damage, which I figured was from a bad ...

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
