Everyone seemed nice

I have been a patient of Dr Vella for over ten years. I have always been happy with her. After having a mammogram I was told I have dense breast. Dr vella said to just watch them and continue with self breast exam. I trusted her so I did not question it. Then I watch on the news and became more informed about dense breasts. I called and asked to speak to Dr vella. A lady Who said her name was Tracy told me that having dense breast was no big deal. I told her that I am being an advocate for my life and my health. She told me how they are busy because they are switching over to a new system. But I left my number and name. Nobody called me back. I called them back. The same lady answered. She told me that she gave the message to the doctor. She insisted that I will be ok. I told her since she can assure my health to email me that she can assure that I will be ok. She responded that she could not do that. And told her that since my trust has been brokened with Dr vella and her staff. I will not be returning to them. I need to find a doctor. That looks out for my health.

I had an appointment today at 8:15 am. I called to inform the office that I would be late due to Uber redirecting to find a driver. I was told I had to reschedule because they have a strict 15 minutes grace period; my time arrival 8:37 am. Although, I understand their formalities. Dr. Vella had me wait 6 plus hours for my tubal ligation years ago. I waited and understood the nature of her job and circumstances arise. There were only 2 people in the waiting room when I arrived. I do believe consideration could have been given coupled with fact I have a physical disability, cerebral palsy and I do not drive. This is unacceptable, patients being generous with their time and understanding but health professionals cannot return the same generosity.

Please avoid this doctor. She is rude and does not care about her patients. She brushed off concerns I had about hormonal issues and denied me testing for them and then told me that I shouldn’t even consider pregnancy until I lose weight (I’m a size 12), while I was naked on the table in a gown that was too small to even cover me. I was stripped of my dignity and my voice. I left in tears and it took me years to finally see a GYN because of past poor experiences. Look elsewhere for an obgyn.

Told me my miscarriage as a minor was god's plan, put me on multiple different birth controls that have made my pain exponentially worse & does not listen to complaints of pain that have worsened over years

The worst bedside manner ever. Lacks current knowledge of how to care for women taking certain medications. I told her my kidneys were hurting, there was massive blood in my urine and she wrote me a script for antibiotic, (thinking it was a bladder infection) when in fact my kidneys were the problem associated with preeclampsia. I had to probe her to look over my file, otherwise she would have never even noticed I had issues at all. I take medication that has shown to be not harmful to a fetus, and she scolded me, asking why didnt I use protection or abort. Or why hasn't my other doctor weaned me from said medication, when in fact that protocol is the exact opposite of what the current literature recommends for a mother taking said medication. Her lack of knowledge and judgmental disposition was a huge turn off.

Blessed to have a caring doctor like Dr Vella

Dr. Vella is a very poor doctor. She has extremely poor bedside manner, panicky and quick to demand c-section. My wife got a horrible infection from the surgery, which I don't know whether to blame the hospital or her for. She tried to blame my wife and me, and proceeded to pump my wife full of six different antibiotics for almost a week, pushing her very close to sceptic. Thank God the on-call doctor came in and opened her back up or I am not sure my wife would be here today.

Dr. Vella is extremely rude and inconsiderate. Had the worse expirence with her

I started visiting Dr. Vella During my first pregnancy. From the day one I felt bonded with her. All the questions were answered in exceptional way. All the needed knowledge were given. Staff is very friendly. Thank you all!!
