List of Karen REICH Maffei's Reviews
Dr Maffei was very professional and did a great job the day I was there The billing department leaves a lot to be desired Was told by my insurance company if their office would learn how to code procedures the whole billing experience would be great Will not be back due to office help not adequately taking care of patients
Dr. Karen Maffei seems interested only in making money. Both visits with her I felt rushed, after waiting in her lobby to see her far longer than I saw her in the treatment room. Both times she tried to sell me a (non-prescription) product that her office dispenses. I transferred my care to another dermatologist, rather than consult with Dr. Maffei again.
Very Poor customer service. Wait is too long to get biopsy results. Nurse will only give results at the end of the day. If you miss the call, you have to wait until the next day at the end of the day. I missed a call at 11:45 on a Friday. I called back immediately and they were closed. They close at 12:00 on Friday. I called back at 8:00 am Monday morning and they wouldn’t accept calls, left message with front desk at 8:20 when someone finally picked up. At 9:30 I received a call and was told they only call back at the end of the day. It’s 3:54 pm and I’m still waiting. They close at 4:00 pm. That’s no way to treat anyone, much less a patient with skin cancer.
Dr. Maffei & staff could not have been nicer. Very concerned and took lots of time with me. Not sure about the negative reviews. I was very pleased. My husband also had an appt. that day. All wore masks and made sure I understood all they were doing & saying.
Dr. Maffei, Morgan and nurses were all supper nice and listened to me. Gave me thorough instructions and all wore masks. My husband also had an appt. same time. We were very pleased. Thanks, Sheila C.
At the end of the day, I’ll leave at this: not a fan at all. I had several visits at Dr. Maffei’s office that were ‘with her’ but when she came in to the room after my pre-interview I’d get 5 minutes or so with her, a smile & shoulder squeeze proceeded by that ‘ok, go on your way’ type treatment. I felt like it was the typical doctor visit - when you haven’t found a good one - where the name of the game is to collect my $75 Co-pay, schedule follow-ups but nothing was resolved. At one point I was asked if I’ve ever heard of “a thing called O-C-D” as if I am a complete idiot. I would not recommend Dr. Maffei to anyone and this is not out of spite; this is my own opinion after having several visits, having zero success/progress and feeling like a doctor who’s oath is to serve the patients she’s treating is just non-existent.
Dr. Maffei has been my dermatologist for seven years, and does an excellent job. MCB
I recently had a basel cell carcinoma on my nose removed. Dr. Maffei and her staff couldn't have been any kinder and compassionate. They have had me return for several days after the surgery to check the area and replace the bandage. I feel as though I'm receiving the best of care. I will highly recommend Dr. Maffei.
Have been seeing Dr Maffei and her PA for over 10 years now. Staff is always pleasant and treatment is consistent. Have had a few issues over the years (skn tag removal, rosacea, psoriasis and cancer removals). Never had any issues or problems and have referred several family members to her
wonderfully simple

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
