You won’t get a warm fuzzy feeling from Dr. Seiden, but you will get solid medical care from one of the best neurologist in Atlanta. My wife has seen him for migraines for several years now and the results have been very measurable. When the Emory Clinic says “If you’re seeing him, you don’t need us”, you know you have a good one.
I've been going to Dr. Seiden for years and wouldn't think of using another neurologist. It took some experimentation with my meds dosages in the beginning, but he was so professional and explanatory we had the right dosage quickly. I appreciate the direct, honest approach to my care and that describes Dr. Seiden. I never have to wait to be called to the back and appreciate being seen on time! I can recommend Dr. Seiden to my family and friends without any hesitation.
Dr. Seiden is one of the best neurologists in Atlanta. He is extremely knowledgeable, listens to me (and I have a LOT of questions at each visit), he always runs on time and his staff is wonderful. If you call and leave a message, his assistant returns your call the same day. If you use the portal Dr. Seiden will respond very quickly. I've had difficulties with my seizures, and he is determined to find the best way to keep me seizure free. Bottom line - he cares about his patients. Having said all that, he is direct. I personally like having all the facts and have them explained to me. A direct approach works well for me. As far as the comment above about the wait time to get an appointment, a wait time to get an appointment is true for all the best neurologists in Atlanta. He's been my dr. for years. If a have a seizure or a serious problem I will get an appointment in a reasonable time.
Was referred to Dr. Lawrence Seiden. Three weeks to get an appointment. Before the first, I was asked at the last minute could I come later, agreed. Then I got a call advising me he had a family emergency; the appointment was scheduled for two weeks later. Second appointment also asked to come at another time. On arrival, I filled out more forms than I have ever filled out at any doctors office. They put me in a small treatment room and there I remained for over one hour. I I felt panicked. I went looking down the hall for staff. Nobody there. Then finally after ten more minutes I brought the paperwork to the front desk, who assumed that I had been seen. In a normal tone of voice and with no profanity I recounted what I had been through and commented their practice was very difficult to deal with, I was leaving. Since then I am blacklisted because staff said I was a no show. They will not see me. That is a lie. This is a blessing. You might think twice about dealing with them.
No bedside manner, rude. Now seeing a different neurologist.
Great bedside manner, explained things throughly.
I am posting this and never post anything anywhere. I know that Dr. Seiden is a great doctor and I believe that he knows his stuff. However, what good is that when you pair that with his gigantic god like ego, escaping beside manner, robotic intolerance for any thing he deems less than. perfect. He seems to have found just the right assistant to match and top off that tall glass of rudeness and disrespect. People just want to feel better. We're not trying to annoy anyone. Remember that your working on sick individuals who juggle lives and are trying to get one foot in front of the other. I try to give you the benefit of the doubt. Please try to do the same; you have a lot more that you can offer, but I can't anymore and I might seriously need you. You and your assist are to cold to process that.
Dr. Seiden cares about his patients. He is interrogative, communicative, and perceptive.
Dr. Seiden is the worst doctor I've ever seen. I was referred to him due to nerve damage, nausea, and panic attacks. The first thing he said to me was, “You gave me a diagnosis not a symptom”. (??) I started explaining symptoms, but he ignored me ruling them out as “not neurological problems”. Not only is this medically incorrect for a number of reasons, but it was incredibly demoralizing. I am so glad we are moving to a P4P model of care, because Dr. Seiden doesn’t deserve my money.
Dr Seiden spent time talking with me and explaining my options. At no time did he rush me. He answered all my questions and concerns.
From reading these negative comments we must not have seen the same doctor. I had previously seen him 2 years ago while I was in the hospital for 4 days. I was being monitored for a seizure disorder. He came in numerous times during my stay, was always polite, answered all my questions, and was quite knowledgeable. I recently started seeing him since my other neurologist retired. I am quite pleased with him.I am so thankful I chose him as my new neurologist.
I liked that you never had to wait past your appointment time. Also, he was easy to talk to and never talked down to you. His bedside manner is excellent. He treated me for migraines and provided me with a prescription that stopped my headaches from becoming a migraine.
Never have I had a physician that is so incredibly rude and unkind. Surprising that one who has no conscience or empathy would be in health care. He should be doing research, not seeing patients. He is on time but that is the only positive I can report.
Dr. Seiden was very thorough with me. He is extremely intelligent and answered every questioned I had. He scheduled an EEG and MRI within the next couple of weeks and a follow up appointment later. I was very pleased with his expertise. I have no complaints.
I think that Dr. Seiden is great. He is not very personable but I must say that does not in any way take away from his great knowledge about neurological conditions. If during your visit you have any concerns, he will listen and address them. No he is not a "chatter" but I would not at the moment trust anyone else with my epilepsy. Don't let me forget to add that he is very aggressive and he will tackle the problem quickly. I appreciate all he has done for me.
I read some of the comments that were posted on this site and initially was hesitant in scheduling appointment. I was seen by Dr. Seiden today. I didn't have to wait long to be seen once I arrived at Dr. Seiden's office. Dr. Seiden was extremely thorough in the questions that he asked, he took time to listen me, and encouraged me to ask questions. He was very patient with me. My fiance sat in during my visit and was also impressed. He scheduled a follow up appointment for me and wanted to have the physican therapist that I see keep him posted about my progress. I am extremely picky about who I choose to be seen by when seeing a physician and would definitely recommend Dr. Seiden to family and friends.
dr. seiden visited my dad in piedmont hospital and he spent a total of 10 mins with him. his communication was short and condescending. you could barely get a word in. it was obviously he had no time for you. he was the most arrogant physician that saw my dad during my dad's stay. he was blunt and uncaring in giving his diagnosis which turned out to be wrong. he never layed a hand on my dad and just asked him to "raise his arm". if he would have touch my dad he would have noticed that my dad's muscles were firing. I would not recommend this dr at all. this was the worse physician experience I've had.
