List of Leticia Diniega's Reviews
I will start by sharing that Dr. Leticia Diniega's office in Waipahu and Queen's are PERMANENTLY CLOSED as of year 2018. Doctor shared to her patients via mail and in-person that she had to stop her practice due to caring for a family member. This review is long over due, but I'm bored during this pandemic and I wanted to share my expericie. I was referred to Dr. Diniega from a family member. She was my OB-GYN with my first born and first trimester with my second child. My experience with this doctor was unsatisfactory. Similar to all Doctor appoiment we go to, the lobby wait is about 1 hour. The medical receptionist to the medical assistants are friendly in the Queen's POBII, but the Waipahu staff aren't. When a patient's room is finally ready for my turn, I wait for her less than 5-10 mins. When she gets in my the room, she greets me "Hi, how are you?" I feel intimated and awkward when I'm around her. She doesn't take the time to give comment and listen to my concerns. My bf always say it feels like we went use the bathroom when we finally get to see her in a room. From all my visits with her, it only takes 10 mins then I'm with her in the patient's room. My only good review for this doctor is she and her staff took the prompt to contact me when I had to go in labor when my first child was born preemie. Then, when I had my second child during my first trimester, she decided to stop her practice. I was kind of happy, but at the same time was a hassle to find a new doctor. Yet, their office referred us a new one and I am very happy with my current OB-GYN which is Dr. Kanoelehua Perry.
Dr. Diniega used to be my OBGYN. It was a HORRIBLE experience to be her patient. She is RUDE, ROUGH in her examinations, and really JUDGMENTAL. It blew my mind that she was a female OBGYN. I was 27 years old and it was the first time I had ever gotten pregnant. I was in a committed and stable relationship with my boyfriend, who is now my husband, for 2 years at that point. Right away, she seemed very judgmental that we weren't married and it was not a planned pregnancy. We had the love and means to take care of this child, but she seemed to think it was a mistake. She then proceeded to push a STD test on me and my boyfriend. Needless to say the results were negative but she didnt care. I had complications during the pregnancy so I had to come back every week for blood tests and ultrasounds. Every week, I DREADED these visits. At my last visit with her, she told me it looked like twins but no heartbeat. She sent me to a specialist only to tell me i had a miscarriage. I cant help but think that the stress of these visits with Dr. Diniega contributed to my miscarriage. She didn't tell me what to expect with the miscarriage or prescribe any pain pills. I woke up in the middle of the night in horrible PAIN with BLOOD all over the bed. I was in pain for days. Only then was I prescribed meds for the pain. Horrible, scarring, experience. I immediately switched doctors, which was the best decision I made.
She has been my doctor since 1995 in my tween phase up till 2017. She has helped me controlled my monthly shark weeks up till the birth of my child. Also, gave me confidence to work out and better myself. She will be surely missed by many of her patience. Just wanted to thank her for those many years of healthy choices. Thanks Dr D for all your help.
Dr. Deniega nearly cost me my life. I had pre-cancer of the endometrium for years and she never did crap about it. I'd schedule office visits with her, to voice my concerns as I was experiencing extremely heavy menstrual bleeding every month. I'd go into detail, but I won't here. The responses that I would get from her were things like "Oh! well, at least you are having a period" or..."come back and see me when you don't get your period for 3 months". Thankfully, I went to see my old obgyn out at kaiser and she along with her team of specialists were able to catch the cancer in time. They literally saved my life. They were in disbelief that a doctor could ignore such a life or death situation. She needs her license revoked. She does not care about her patients or their health. You become nothing but a paid office visit and a number to her.
This woman has no capacity for compassion. Absolutely none. She is not professional at all. I do not recommend her services. I went to see her regularly during my pregnancy. I had some medical issue that I was very concerned about and asked for her advice and options to treating the issue. She didn't even examine me ir take any tests and she proceeded to try to blame me for choosing a terrible partner (whom she never met) and basically was trying to shame and judge me for not "knowing what I was getting into". Her job as an obgyn is to help me in that area as that is supposed to be her expertise. Not sit on her high horse and pass judgement on anyone. Good luck with that negative attitude. I don't see success for someone like you. You are going to need it.
I wish I could give negative stars! My experience was that BAD! Very cold personality! Rude! Unprofessional! Always late! Started seeing her when I was on my 3rd or 4th mo. of pregnancy and was referred by a friend. I was new to the island and it was hard to find an OB who's accepting new patients, so I have no choice. Every appointment I had with Dr. Diniega was awkward and uncomfortable! I had a bunch of questions to ask bec it was my first pregnancy and I had complications, but she never listened and cared about my concerns!. My cervical checks were always painful! She could've warn me that the cervical check would hurt a little, but she did not! She did it carelessly and fast, plus a resident was watching me! The waiting time lasted for 30 to 60 mins, and my appointments lasted for just 10 to 15 mins, every time! She's always RUSHING! She was rushing with my appointments, procedures and even with my delivery! I understand all OB's are busy, but if her schedule was already that hectic, why the H*** is she still accepting new patients?I was like, maybe she'll do good with my delivery. but heck NOOO! Worst experience ever! I was induced, had the epidural, and the labor lasted for 15 hours. She was late, she arrived at 3 am. Baby was facing up so a bunch of doctors were trying to rotate my baby! 6 doctors (probably residents) tried to rotate my baby. Yes, that many hands that's why I had the fever and infection! When it was Dr. Diniega's turn to rotate my baby, wow! brutal! She tried to rotate the baby carelessly and fast. I did not feel the pressure with the first 6 doctors but it felt worst with her!Only now that I realized - Dr. Diniega let those residents practiced on me? OMG! Is this because I'm a clueless Filipino and new to the island? Thank God, I have switched to Dr Morikawa with my 2nd pregnancy. On the day of delivery, it was just Dr Morikawa and 1 resident inside the delivery room. He even asked me if I feel comfortable if a student was watching and helping. 2 years later, I was on the same elevator with Dr. Diniega at Kapiolani, and she did not even recognized me! She never even looked and cared to say HI. Did I say that the office is filthy, and the staff are lazy and rude! My list never ends! So many good OB's in Oahu. PLEASE, PLEASE do your research before choosing Dr. Diniega. My experience with Dr. Jon Morikawa is 10000 times better!!!
Diniega is a straight up honest doctor. I was referred to her for an unpleasant circumstances. She was stern and straight to the point. My 2nd appointment was for the actual procedure, I was fine up until it was time for the anesthesia. I was so afraid and nervous I couldn't say anything, yet she could see it. She stopped them and grabbed my hand and said I was going to be fine. Yes, she can come off cold at first to some people. But, she's really a genuine, kind hearted, respectful doctor. She's fierce! She's rough on the outside but gentle at heart. When it comes to her patients she does what she can to get them the best.I've gone thru some challenges with my pregnancies and at times I thought I emotionally prepared. I wasn't, yet she gave me comfort, hope & courage. I've been blessed to have her deliver 3 out of 4 of my children.
highly satisfied
It's been 6 months since I first wrote my review. It's been that long since I finally got in for my annual. You see, my thing is, even through it's frustrating trying to get my annual done with a couple reschedules, I have to think, "Doctor must be doing something right if she's always delivering, in emergencies and sometimes takes months for an appointment!" Deliveries happen! People happen! She's in high demand! People must like her. I haven't seen Dr. Diniega for 7 years and am happy to be back. Was a little scared to get scolded but it was alright in the end. Same staff I love. I'm always going to schedule my appointments in Ewa. It's easy to get to and free parking. Dr. Diniega now shares office with another OBGyn that I used to see before I was 21. I thought they were condescending toward me then and thats why I left. However, being older and wiser, I appreciate them and can see things differently. I'm actually glad to have them in the same office.Dr. Diniega remembered that I never gave her a picture of my little one and asked how they were doing. I'll get around to sending one.I think Dr. is personable. She looks exactly the same and didn't look like she's aged either. I like her a lot.
This place needs to shut down ! I've never met such rude people ever in my life . Non of them deserve to have this job. Always feel uncomfortable with everyone that works there ! Please , just close down ! From the front desk all the way to the doc .
