List of Ranjini Kandasamy Md's Reviews
Dr. Kandasamy was my pediatrician as a child and I could think of no one else to help care for my son. Thank you for all that you do.
Dr. Kandasamy is simply the best! We were with another pediatrician before and I was so unhappy. It was night and day when we switched. When I call with a question, she gets back to me that day. When my child was hospitalized, she came to visit her the next day with a stuffed animal in hand. I completely trust her with my kids' care.
My daughter was born 29 weeks and was hospitalized for months. She got disability insurance that not much places accepted. Who would want to take on a new born with disability insurance? You know there are complications. Dr. Kandasamy made a way to accept our insurance and became our child's doctor. It's been 10 years and she still gives the best care. When we had a fire she called to make sure I was able to gather my daughters machine and medicine incase she needed it and if we didn't she would get another prescription for her. We are forever grateful for her and her staff for loving and caring for our kids even when they aren't sick. Highly recommend her .
i cannot say enough great things about Dr. Kandasami and her awesome, amzang team! We have been with them for over 34 years and have recommended our friends and family to them and now, their children goes there too...
I've been with Dr. Kandasamy ever since I was born, I now bring my son to her. She is a amazing doctor, she will treat your child as her own! I love Dr. Kandasamy and her staff they will always make you feel like family, they're so kind and they really take care of the children, being at the doctors for kids is scary but they really know how to make the children feel comfortable and safe. I recommend you having Dr . Kandasamy as your pediatrician!!! WE LOVE THEM
Update to my original post dated 3/11/19I have no idea what happened with Dr. Kandasamy, but she totally flipped. After 20+ years of my children being under her care with absolutely no issue, that drastically changed on 10/4/19 after I brought to her attention a discrepancy with insurance that needed her attention. She doesn't take correction or if you disagree with her very well. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, I have written communication that she chose to be untruthful, rude, dismissive and point fingers instead of taking responsibility and remedy as my child's PCP (former, as of the other day because I can no longer trust her to care for my child). In retrospect there were signs and other incidents where I now question the lack of urgency, interest and care for my youngest. Due to these recent encounters I would not recommend Ranjini Kandasamy and if you are current patient, get everything in writing because she will deny conversations.
Dr. Kandasamy is my kids' doctor for last 8 years now and we absolutely love her! When my kids get sick, we don't have to wait days to see her. She always makes time to see my kids right away. And as other reviewer had mentioned the nurse Marilyn is really great too! I would strongly recommend Dr. Kandasamy!
So I attempted to find a new pediatrician. Called another nearby on Thursday, and assistant informed me they would call back to schedule. Assistant asked who previous pediatrician was to request records. The following week I receive no call, so I call to follow up. Lady answered, I inform her who I am and why I am calling, and she told me they don't take patients from colleagues, especially if they have a prior condition like asthma. All was this was previously discussed, none of which was a problem before. Somebody at Kandasamy's office bad mouthed me to the new pediatrician, so my daughters weren't accepted. I ended up having to go through the health plan. Disgusting.
Ranjini has been my two girls' pediatrician since birth, now ages 8 and 11. Sadly, not even that fact can keep her as their pediatrician. My oldest was born with many physical and mental disabilities. Virtually since birth, I had been trying to get Ranjini to refer us to specialists. It wasn't until my daughter was 9, after many, many requests, did Ranjini finally make the referrals. So much valuable time squandered. After moving into a new home, and getting a new pet, my youngest began to exhibit an allergy to something. What, we had no idea. I requested on many, many occasions for an allergy test, yet Ranjini refused, and refused to refer us to someone. After a year or two of requests, Ranjini finally made the referral, so I could properly treat my children.I was involved in a bitter custody battle with my ex-wife (I prevailed and have sole custody). My ex-wife was routinely, involuntarily committed for psychosis with suicidal ideations. After one of her releases, she contacted Ranjini, and requested her assistance in the custody issue. Without any information whatsoever, Ranjini wrote her a letter (for a person that was released that morning from involuntary commitment FOR PSYCHOSIS WITH SUICIDAL IDEATIONS) recommending custody! My ex-wife then committed non-custodial kidnapping, but after filing a TRO, the police were able to locate her and return the children. I made an appointment for the girls with Ranjini, informed her of the above (unaware she wrote such a letter), and she informed me that mother had not kept an appointment in years, no-call, no-showing every annual physical for 3 years. Yet this is the person she wrote a letter for?At the time that custody was still shared, at my urging, my ex made an appointment with Ranjini regarding my youngest daughter having insect bites covering her body every morning for a few days after the ex moved to yet another place. Prior to the appointment, it was my belief with my untrained eyes that it was bed bugs. However, Ranjini diagnosed the bites as mosquito bites. To my untrained eye, it was obviously not mosquito bites (both in appearance, and HELLO, she doesn't sleep naked, and they were covering her). I took my daughter for a second opinion, and of course, bed bugs (it turned out my ex's place was infested). My untrained eye knew it, but her trained eye didn't? She misdiagnosed my daughter.Eventually. I was granted custody. I called Ranjini, informed their office I now had custody, and to please refill a Rx for my daughter. However, Marilyn (I'll get to her later) refused. Marilyn informed me I'd have to make an appointment for a running Rx. I told her I had no upcoming openings during business hours (single father), and instead, was forced to buy over the counter since Ranjini wouldn't call it in.Sometime later, I attempted to refill my daugher's asthma inhaler, and was denied by the pharmacy. I called Ranjini's office, and the always pleasant (sarcasm) Marilyn informed me Ranjini stopped the Rx because we missed our last appointment. I informed them I was unaware of any appointment, nor was I notified of it being missed, and it turned out, even though they were AWARE I had sole custody, they made the appointment with the ex (who was again committed and unavailable). Despite all of this, Ranjini refused to fill my daughter's potentially life saving medication!! I pleaded, and eventually struck a financial deal with her. Please fill the potentially life saving medication for my daughter, and I promised to make an appointment and give her more billable business, which she agreed to.A few weeks later, my daughter developed a foot issue. I called to make an appointment (per my financial agreement with Ranjini), and the ever pleasant Marilyn delayed, delayed, then told me she would call me back ... but she never did, resulting in me being forced to take my daughter to the ER for care. The following day, I called, and rather than call me to inform me they could not or would not see me daughter or otherwise book an appointment, Ranjini's office decided to rather just not call me back and let my daughter blow in the wind without medical care. This continues to not be the care my children deserve. As for Marilyn, she is one of the more unpleasant human beings I have ever been around. She has been cold to my children since day one, at times even losing her patience and chiding them for the most unnecessary things. She reminds me of a cold fish, with no discernible personality.
My children have been with Dr. Kandasamy for over 20 years and I absolutely trust her knowledge and expertise. She is calm, kind, listens deeply, takes her time to ensure that she is addressing any concerns and her demeanor is very soothing. I have recommended my family and friends to Dr. Kandasamy, and those who have chosen to make her their pediatrician as well have always been thankful and grateful. Friendly and personable staff, very accommodating with scheduling an appointment- especially the unforeseen ones. They are located ground floor of the Aiea Medical Building, ticketed parking is available, but no validation (you pay). I would highly recommend Dr. Ranjini Kandasamy.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process.
