Russell Ogawa's Online Review Report Card

We love Dr. Ogawa! We have been seeing him for almost 9 yrs now. He has always been available to help when my kids were sick. He always returns my call right away and I'm able to get an appointment with him the same day I call. His nurses are friendly. His office rooms are clean. The location is convenient.

I was a child under the care of Doctor Ogawa for 17 YEARS! NEARLY 18!! My experience with him was horrendous! I want to warn other families, to please take precautions with this pediatrician. I'll be 20 years old soon. After leaving his office and finding a pcp, i have so many health issues that it affects my college life. I asked him for help multiple times and each time he minimized and invalidated what I felt. He told me my now known as Acid Reflux was from puberty. He also told me that my, now known as "staring seizures," were also part of puberty. Now I have been not only told that I have generalized epilepsy, but am also told that I have Major Depressive disorder, anxiety, possibly bipolar, and have ocd tendencies! I also have been having to do multiple testings to figure out what is wrong with me. PHYSICAL testings that my current doctors actually validate that what I'm going through and have been going through is NOT NORMAL!!! Ogawa only started taking actual action when i was 17. Mind you my issues had been going on since i was 12 or 13 years old and each time i went to him i complained of the same things and it got worse over time. If you don't want your child to end up as I did, I suggest you find a different pediatrician. This is coming from a child that was under his care for years and who now has to suffer the consequences of his ignorance and irresponsibility! I might also add that a few times i went in and had complained, he would tell me I never complained before since he "didnt document it" but i know for damn sure I told him what was going on and was simply brushed aside. Please be cautious for your child or children's sake! UPDATE: JUNE 2021 After years of suffering from stomach issues, I finally got a diagnosis last year. I have a hyperkinetic gallbladder disorder which affects every aspect of my life. Once again. A late diagnosis that I would like the point out could have been solved, if I had been taken seriously. Now I have to go to see a surgeon to discuss about removing my gallbladder. My Health Conditions: Epilepsy and Hyperkinetic Gallbladder disorder. These could have been diagnosed earlier as I had been going through these issues for years. By years I mean since I was 13 years old, which was when most of my issues had begun. But Dr. Ogawa had not taken my health concerns seriously and dismissed the things I had been going through as if they were not serious at all. My stance still stands just as strong as ever. If you genuinely care about your children, please be cautious of going to this doctor.

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Russ Ogawa. I have been bringing my children here for 12 years now. We love Dr and Aunty Lani, the nurse. Dr is very efficient and brief. As long as you ask the right questions you'll get all the info you need. For me I understand and appreciate that he's not so "long winded", it prevents long wait times. If there was something I missed or have a question after the appointment, I've always called and left a message. Most times I'll get an answer same day. Dr comes in to see baby at the hospital after birth in the early AM so along with all the patients in the office, I am sure his days are filled. Still, he doesn't skip a beat. Check ups, physicals and visits for illness are always very thorough. I will continue to bring my children to Dr Russ as long as he is around and we are on island.

Dr. Ogawa is exceptional! He is brilliant very easy to talk to. He explains everything thoroughly and will answer all your questions. It’s always a pleasant meeting when we bring our son to him.
