No one looks forward to having a colonoscopy, but Dr. Aoki and his team make it very comfortable and tolerable. If he finds a problem he is an excellent Board Certified, Fellowship trained surgeon and takes care of it right away. He has a friendly attitude and good sense of humor. His anesthesiologist and staff have all worked together for years. You can be totally confident in his skills. Colon cancer is a deadly disease and he will help you avoid it.

I love this Doctor. When I had my Cancer years ago he was a part of my pallative care team. I didn't know where he disapeered too but I am also with the Queens liver center and found out he started working there I think last year or so.Once Dr. Tice left the center and then he just died, God Bless Him. He was the best liver doctor ever. Well I got stuck with this women liver doctor that took his place and she is horrible and has no compassion for her patients.When I saw Dr. Aoki's name on the wall on my last recent appointment I was so happy. I trust him with my life and called and changed my primary liver doctor to start with my next appointment to be him. They approved it. I can't wait to see and talk to him. I'm sure he'll be surprised to see me. I know God put him there because the other women doctor has made mistakes that has made my problems almost incurable.Mahalo and Aloha

Dr. Aoki is an excellent physician. Initial impression may be that he's rather cold, but if you need quality care ... he provides it.

Dr. Aoki is an empathetic, extremely knowledgeable gastroenterologist. He took the time to get to know me personally, to explain and answer questions, to personally call and report test results. When I had to go to the hospital for a procedure, he spent time at my bedside before and after. He has a strong Christian faith; he asked me if I would like him to pray with me before my procedure, and I said, "Thank you, I'd really appreciate that!" but he does not impose his beliefs on others.

Helpful when symptoms are under control. Once I started a Colitis flare up, he did try me on different medication but seemed to not believe the pain that I was dealing with. His indifference reflected in all his staff, excluding the nurses. It took several trips to the er, his advice, to finally be referenced to a pain specialist. Very disappointed in the lack of care. Hundreds of dollars have been spent on emergency visits with Dr. Aoki.

Dr Aoki is a caring, intelligent, professional doctor. I was referred to him by my surgeon who has the utmost regard for Dr. Aoki. Dr. Aoki spends much time explaining my procedures and test results. Dr. Aoki is highly respected by other doctors as he capable of performing certain procedures which only 3 doctors in Hawaii can do. He performed a endoscopic biopsy on my pancreas with no pain. He will follow up with phone calls to ensure the comfort of his patients. I trust him with my life!

I have Barrett's esophagus with high grade dysplasia which is a precancerous condition requiring Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) as a treatment. I was referred to Dr. Christopher Aoki to do the RFA and required follow-up. With Barrett's esophagus, the surveillance requires an upper endoscopy with biopsies on a regular basis for lifetime. Dr. Aoki has provided me with exceptional care. He is now my regular gastroenterologist. I recommended him highly. He is very knowledgeable, skillful and caring.
