I did my valve replacement last 08-12-22 to Dr Dean Nakamura all I can say he’s excellent. His job and his team are very good.The nurses from cardio thoracic unit are very nice specially Howe,Sadie,Charmaine during my confinement I am so thankful for Queens Honolulu those kind nurses deserves appreciation.

Dr Nakamura did a quadrupal bypass surgery on me in July 2021. I must say that he and his team of professionals from the receptionist and staff to anesthesiologist and PA's were terrific. I shall forever appreciate Dr Nakamura's technical skill as a surgeon and also the thoroughness of his work. During my recovery, 3 ICU nurses said if they ever have to do heart surgery they would want Dr Nakamura to work on them. His attention to detail is amazing as the 9 inch incision on my chest looks like a fine ball point pen of a scar. If that work is an indication of his skills he uses on the inside grafts, then I'm confident that he is the best in Hawaii. Most of all, he is a very personalble guy. He helped me and my wife feel totally comfortable about the whole process and his other team members so I knew I was in great hands. I strongly recommend Dr Nakamura for any heart surgery and will proudly show people my scar if they ask to see proof. Much MAHALO to Dr Nakamura and his team!!!

Dr Nakamura was the perfect doctor for my bypass in 2012. His confidence in assuring me a safe and necessary step by his very capable hands saved my life. His attention to detail and no trace of scarring are typical of his outcomes. A master at his craft!

My husband and I were "rushed" into triple bypass surgery world. Dr. Nakamura was the best thing that could have happened to us. He and his entire staff were courteous, caring, and most importantly, extremely informing. A lot of doctors have ego problems when they are as talented as Dr. Nakamura. He does NOT. He has a great bedside manner. His assistant, Abby, explained absolutely everything with terminology we could understand. We would highly recommend Dr. Nakamura to friends and family

I saw Dr Dean Nakamura for mitral valve repair. He specializes in the type of surgery. He was extremely knowledgeable, through, compassionate and an excellent surgeon. I highly recommend him

Did open heart surgery to replace mitral valve. Punctured pulmonary artery during procedure, but denied "complications" upon direct questioning, even though it had to be sutured twice to stop bleeding. Would not refer to another cardiologist to attend in hospital even when requested. Patient suffered VT while in hospital and only then did he call in the cardiologist. Talks a nice talk, acts as a nice guy. My experience doesn't recommend him.
