Douglas Kwock Md's Online Review Report Card

Our first visit to Dr Kwock. Upon arriving to his office the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Dr Kwock entered the exam room very welcoming. We sat and had a great conversation about him so that we can get to know who he is. Also he wanted to know about my son. Dr Kwock wanted to know about him, from eating, activities, hobbies to better analyze him. Upon completion of the exam. He explained everything. Great Doctor!!'

We just went for another checkup today, so I thought I'd update my review as my daughter is now 2. Dr. Doug Kwock is truly the best pediatrician! We're still (kind of) crazy parents who make lists of our questions and concerns that pop up in between scheduled appointments. Dr. Kwock never makes us feel rushed, and takes the time to thoroughly answer all of our questions (7 today...not too bad, right?).The parking situation is much better...Kapiolani Hospital built a huge parking structure and finally connected the two buildings, so no more precarious walking under cranes without hardhats. It's still $3 for a couple of hours and you can prepay before you exit to expedite things.His staff is excellent, although Brooklyn does cry as soon as she sees the nurse, but that has everything to do with scary vaccinations and nothing to do with her demeanor or professionalism. Brooklyn "high fives", "fist bumps" and even hugs Dr. Doug who wisely never touches the shots himself. Being a two-year old, she approaches most adults warily, so it really does say a lot about the level of care she receives from him. I was pleasantly surprised to see a previous co-worker of mine and his kids there. I guess the word is out about how good Dr. Kwock really is!

We are so lucky to have had Dr. Kwock as our pediatrician while living in Honolulu. No wait times, he spent time with us answering all our questions, he was very informative and thorough, and would return our calls even if it was late at night and we were worried about our daughter. Sadly, we moved back to the mainland after being with him for 3 years. We have not been able to find a pediatrician like him on the mainland. We definitely miss Dr Kwock and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a pediatrician who truly does care for his patients.

Dr. Kwock is a fantastic pediatrician! His wife works with my husband, but since Brooklyn was going to be my first child, I really wanted to do my independent research. I started with my OB / gyn who said "Oh, go with him...He's wonderful and just such a nice guy". I asked her anyway if she had other recommendations, and she gave me a list, but reiterated that she thought I should go to him. He patiently answered all of my (looking back) absurd first-time mom questions and I was sold. I was so comfortable with him that I stopped looking at the referral list.After Brooklyn was born, he frequented the hospital to see how she was doing. He always takes the time to address any concerns we may have no matter how busy he is. Most importantly, Brooklyn loves him! We ask if she wants to go see Dr. Douggie and she waves and nods her head.The staff is great...minimal tears on the necessary shots. They are accommodating with scheduling. I think it costs us $3 to park and we have to drive from Aiea to town for the visits. The office is clean, but a little dated. We overlook everything for the quality of care we receive. I'm confident knowing I made the right decision with Dr. Kwock.

I find Dr. Kwock to be the perfect blend of thoroughness and ease. He is patient with my questions, kind to my children, and makes the whole experience of having a check up reassuring and stress free. His staff is lovely and make getting an appointment pain free. I had had a difficult time with a previous office, and the difference is just wonderful. I have never had to wait for my appointment. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a pediatrician. I am only rating the follow up on visits a 3 since I have never needed that, but in other ways he and his staff have gone out of their way for us.

カピオラニにオフィスがある小児科の先生ですが、先生自身も4人も子供がいるベテランの親でもあります。　子育てのアドバイスから病気などの症状の説明や対処の仕方、他の先生への紹介も全て親身にして下さいます。　子供好きなのがいつもお決まりの笑顔から伝わってきます。　予防接種などの注射類は全て看護婦さんが行うので、子供も先生を怖がることなく、アポイントがいつもスムーズにいきます。一番のお勧めは、先生がカピオラニ病院では権威のある先生という他に、むやみに薬の処方をしないことです。　また、感染病の専門医でもあるので安心です。新しく出来たパーキングがクリニックから少し離れているので、時間に余裕を持って行くことをお勧めします。

It's hard deciding on a pediatrician when you have your first child. I had no idea on how to pick but fortunately, I made a good choice. Dr. Kwock is easy to talk to, smart, trustworthy and caring. What is one of my biggest pet peeves with doctors is that most of mine have me in the waiting room forever even when I had an appointment. I don't think my daughter would have the tolerance for that! Dr. Kwock is ready to see us usually within 5 minutes of our arrival. And what is also important is that whenever I've needed his help off-hours, he calls me promptly when I leave my number with the off-hours service. Trust me, I've done this several times over the years. I have recommended him to friends without hesitation. The only down side to seeing Dr. Kwock was that awful, awful parking structure at Kapiolani. Thankfully, they have replaced it and although it's a farther walk, at least there's now ample parking with DECENT sized stalls. Esp when you are handling a baby carrier.

I absolutely love Dr. Kwock. He is such a sweet, laid back Dr. with a great sense of humor. My husband, daugher and I absolutely adore him. My parents even thought that he was such a friendly, caring Dr when they met him at the Hospital for her very first one day check-up. He has always been so encouraging and resourceful at all of our daughter's check-ups. You never feel rushed in the room with him because he takes his time listening to your concerns providing you with helpful advice.He is conveniently located in the Kapiolani Medical Center on the 10th floor. My only problem with his office is the hospital's parking. Many times they parking structure was full, so we had to pay to have the car valet parked. Other times I had to pull out of the parking and park down the road in an open lot, which is hard to do when you are toting along a newborn. The parking stalls in the structure are not only always full, but very tight and hard to pull into. Also hard to pull an infant car seat in and out of to attach to your stroller with neighboring cars parked so close to you.I highly recommend him if you're looking for a good pediatrician.

Dr. Kwock is knowledgeable and kind. He, and his office staff, always make my son and I feel welcome and comfortable.

Dr. Kwock makes us feel like our son is the only patient he has. He and his nurses, Pam and Rachel genuinely care for my son and we have only positive things to say about his office. Dr. Kwock is gentle and patient - not to mention intelligent, up-to-date and informative.
