Edward Shen's Online Review Report Card

He is very good doctor

I recommend Dr. Edward Shen hands down. My whole life I have been suffering from fainting spells and heart arrhythmias. I got to say that Dr. Shen has not given up on me and has tried all kinds of treatments to see what is wrong with me and finally after installing a pacemaker I can live a normal life without worrying if I'm going to pass out . Dr has saved my life and helps me every year live with my pacemaker whether be new weight lifting regiments or new things i do in my life because I like to try all kinds of things. I recommend him to anyone who needs his services. He is thorough, patient and over all kind hearted with your best interest at heart. His staff all so lovely from Heidi to Rene. Best doctors office ever.

Two stars, but only for the friendly receptionist and nursing staff. Was it not for their friendly demeanor and hospitality, I'd probably give 1 star instead. I've had to take my parents yearly for a heart check and each time, the wait is horrendous. I don't understand the point of scheduling an appointment far in advance if Dr. Shen won't honor our scheduled time.Time and time again, he arrives consistently late (as few as 45 minutes and as much as 1.5 hours). It's hard watching the elderly patients (my parents included) wait restlessly for him to arrive. While i understand he could be at the hospital performing life or death surgeries, it's nonetheless disheartening to see the same thing happening on a yearly basis.Aside from punctuality, does he do a good job as a cardiologist? I'm not sure. My parents don't have anything bad to say once they've actually seen him. After all, it's just a routine check given their age, but we all complain about his constant tardiness.

Waiting time excruciating but it's worth it for best cardiologist in town. Decades ago my friend who was an ER nurse recommended him. He's kept me alive ever since.

So Dr. Shen is a great guy and he is a great doctor but this one star is for the multiple times I had an appointment, sat in their office for hours, and had to leave because the doctor was not there or was just super backed up. Today was number 3 and the last straw. This is unacceptable as a patient as I am a busy professional and my time is very valuable. Not only do I have to leave because I have to get to my next engagement, but I have to reschedule another appointment and now I have wasted two days trying to see the doctor. This has happened three times in the 4 years I have been seeing him. Besides that part, When I do show up for my appointments and wait, I usually get called 1-1:30 past my scheduled time and one time I waited 3 hours to see him. His staff is very friendly but do not give you any expectations of when you will actually see the doctor. I will be finding another cardiologist.

He did an ablation of my heat to correct my WPW syndrome and now my heart does not beat fast when excercising.  It used to only hit me a few times a year, which was fine doing team sports, but not individual sports such as wrestling.  Wish I got it done before I was in my late 20s, but better late than never as a Univeristy of Hawaii swimmer passed a month after I got the procedure and he knew he had WPW.  I didn't know what the condition was until they rushed me to the ER after blacking out.  He saved my life!!

My father has an appointment at 10:45 am.  We've been waiting for an hour.  This is not the first time we have to wait a long time.  We had to wait 2 hours for him to see my father a month ago.  He didn't even do any treatments.   I didn't want to give him any stars but that's the only way it allows me to post review.

Friendly and coherent staff. Clean waiting room, though the chairs' armrest could use a good scrub down. And your typical cramped examination room. Dr. Shen himself is very understanding off our medical history and habits. The best part is that he speaks Cantonese! My father had no problem speaking about his health concerns to Dr. Shen. Wished he was our first recommended cardiologist.

Saved my life. Superb doctor

Dr. Shen provided me with initial electrophysiology consultation and performed an ablation to correct the diagnosis of Wolff-Parkson-White syndrome I received in early 2018. The procedure went well at Queens Medical. I continue to feel healthier and stronger and look forward to the quality of life continuing to improve since I am no longer on medication since the procedure. I have to thank Dr. Shen for his level of professional care, specialization and skill of performing ablation!
