Eugene Ng's Online Review Report Card

Very pheasant doctor and was extremely kind and patient with my Mum, explained everything in detail to us , very caring man and his staff were also very pheasant to us also.

Right now I am steaming. I had an appointment with Dr Ng at 10:00 this morning ( 1-21-2022) I get there on time. The receptionist give me several pages to fill out which I do. I turn it in and return to the waiting room. A few minutes later the receptionist come to me and tells me that Dr Ng is in Guam and if I wish to reschedule my appointment. Why was I not called? I was home yesterday in the afternoon and this morning. I live out almost In Keaau. not acceptable!! wake up your staff!!

The office of doctor Ng is a small and disorganized. The staff seemed poorly trained, confused and overworked. When I did finally get to see Dr. Ng he was rushed and spent less then 10 minutes with me before telling me I needed to come back the next day and he attempted to write me multiple prescriptions without knowing or really trying to figure out what was wrong. As far as I can tell Dr. Ng just wants to make money on return visits and prescriptions. Avoid at all costs.

Extremely knowledgeable doctor with an office with the latest equipment for testing your sight. Great staff who run the office efficiently and make you feel welcome every visit.

In a recent rating, I rated Dr. Ng outstanding following treatment for CRVO, a vitrectomy, and cataract surgery. Unfortunately, following a week or two after cataract surgery, the results have proven to be poor at best. After not being able to reach Dr. Ng who was in Guam and experiencing extremely cloudy vision, I was referred to another ophthalmologist who has been striving to arrive at a possible cause and treatment for this problem which has left me practically blind in my left eye. The issue I now have with Dr. Ng is that he may be difficult to reach in an emergency as he apparently travels a great deal to his other offices including Guam, and in that regard, I feel I was premature in my prior rating and must follow with a reduced one.

I punctured my left eye in a construction Accident Dr Eugene cleared it up quite well hi. He and his staff are some of the most professional I've ever seen. After 4 surgeries and many months of therapy my vision in the damaged guy is back to almost normal which I considered to be a miracle considering the damage. Mahalo to Eugene and his staff for getting me back my eyesight!

Dr. Ng repaired an injury caused by poor cataract surgery gone wrong in Kona. He made time on a busy saturday to do surgery in Honolulu the next day, and has been seeing me regularly over the past 2 months in Hilo. I cannot say enough about his courtesy, concern for patients, and surgical skills. In fact, he is the best medical doctor I have had over the past 74 years. His concern for patients is so great that he flies from Oahu to the Big Island every week; his office is filled with patients, and the team he has assembled is superb. It takes three months for my eye to heal, but his care has saved my vision. Nothing is more important to me and I never will be able to thank him properly. Allan G. Grapard, PhD.
