List of Gregory Yim Md's Reviews
Dr. Yim rushed our appointments everytime, stating that he had something else to get to. After requesting mri scans and finding nothing, he drew the conclusion that my neurology problems all stemmed from my diabetes. I'm a type 1 diabetic who carefully manages my diabetes and this accusation was ridiculous and was not in his field of knowledge for him to draw such conclusions. When I saw my diabetes doctor about this, he was genuinely concerned that Dr. Yim had declared such things as they were highly inaccurate.
Terrible dr & staff!I'm very disappointed with the receptionist MEL always giving me and my family run arounds because she can't do her job right, I've been dealing with her for a few months already but today I'm very angry and I'm not sure if dr YIM even cares about patients, my son has no phenobarbital which helps for his seizures. I've been trying to get a new prescription from dr YIM from earlier this week and still NO response back my son suffered with no medication all day because they don't know how to do their job right. My parents are now driving my son the Kapiolani hospital because he doesn't have no medication. Anyone can help me find a better neurologist dr please I would really appreciate it. This is not the first time I'm dealing with this problem. Mind you I live all the in Waianae.
If I could give this place a zero, I would. First off all, my kid had a seizure and his primary care said to see a neurologist and referred us to this pediatric neurologist. This neurologist wanted him to get an EEG done prior to being seen. So we went and got the EEG done in July through a third company. This third company said to follow up with the neurologist. Give it about 2 weeks for the results. After making the appointment in early October with Mel, she stated appointment might change according if slots open. Got the confirmation call for my appointment for 10/24/2019 3:30pm the day prior but Mel asked to push it back to 3:45pm:.. no big deal. I admit I was running about 5 minutes late... tell me why at 3:53 this doctors office is locked! Call the number and it states office closes at 4:30pm. Pounded on the door and out runs Mel. She states.... oh you weren't here at 3:45 so doctor left. WHAT???????? I drove from Mililani all the way to his Kapiolani Medical Center office only for you to tell me he left??? Couldn't wait 15 to see if I would show?? Mel did call me while I was parking at 3:43 but either the call dropped or she hung up. Called her right back but no answer. She said she was about to go check the mail that's why the office was locked? Really? This doctor chose to leave the office knowing he had a patient to see. Maybe they seen what kind of insurance we had and decided to be prejudicial and not waste his time. On top of that Mel said they do not validate parking??? Y'all yelpers know almost every parking in town is paid parking.. so for them not to validate parking for an appointment they scheduled and only for the doctor to leave? She had the nerve to tell me I wasn't there at 3:30 to fill out paperwork. Oh please... my scheduled appointment was for 3:45. She also had the nerve to tell me I'm suppose to follow up with primary care doctor bc they don't take new patients. Mel.... you are not a great Liar, quit making ALL KINDS IF EXCUSES FOR YOUR LAME DOCTOR. YOU PUSHED MY APPOINTMENT BACK TO 15 MINTUES AND USED THAT AS AN EXCUSE FOR HIM LEAVING??? This appointment was to see the results from the EEG for my kid after having a seizure. Mel wanted to charge me $5 for a copy of the results. Please y'all don't take your kids here. This doctor picks and chooses which kid to see prejudicially.
We saw him a few years ago for my child. He did not give a proper physical exam, drew conclusions on my child's neurological functioning from what he was doing on a casual basis in front of him (eating a sandwich) and then gave us patently incorrect information on my son's condition. Avoid this doctor. And don't be surprised if you can get in to see him on short notice, because the other, legitimate doctors are busy.
He always seems to be rushing with me! I'll give Dr. Yim 5 stars cause I had a medical emergency in his waiting room and being he is a Neurologist it was somewhat fitting to have my first seizure in his office! But other than that 0 stars especially his staff, had appt only to show up and the only lady there tells me he is @ his other clinic and I'm like nah I don't want go to his other clinic especially in the afternoon and whats worst they slammed a no-show bill for that and I'm like y'all could given me a courtesy call ahead of time but nah! Shady and what an ass of a move!
Dr. Greg Yim is a superb doctor who knows his stuff. He is genuinely kind and humble who has demonstrated that he really cares about the wellness for people's health. Kapiolani Hospital is so fortunate to have him be part of their team. Thanks Greg for all that you do. Aloha! John
Greg is an awesome doctor who really knows his stuff. He is also very caring and just a great guy. Kapiolani is so fortunate to have him be part of their team. Thanks so much Greg for all that you do. Best regards and I’ll see you at the range. John
Very personable doctor. He makes time to get to know you and allows you to discuss your concerns/questions. The receptionist always greets me with a smile.
What a brilliant and relatable doctor! He spoke in a way that both my daughter and I could understand, medically speaking.
Great warm, caring, kid-friendly and trusting doctor!! My son had a seizure after hitting his head at school. He use to take care of Kaiser Permanente patients but doesn't now, so sad!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
