List of Harry Yoshino's Reviews
My regular OBGYN retired last year so I said I would see anyone in the office. It's been a long journey finding the right doctor and many of them aren't taking new patients. I've been scheduled with Dr. Yoshino, who can take me on a Saturday. Am I glad I struck gold! I can't believe I never knew Dr. Yoshino before. My annual was quick and painless. He introduced himself and was very friendly. I also brought my other half who I said I would marry. We had questions about conceiving another child. He gave us more information than the urologist did and even coordinated the semen analysis! Dr. Yoshino is in a group with multiple doctors, so you'll never have a shortage of OBGYN, if you're a patient here. I prefer to go to the Queens West location because parking is free and plentiful, and the drive out of town is less than ten minutes without freeway closures.
I've been seeing Dr Yoshino for about 5 years now after I was referred to him by Dr William Mckenzie. He is a great doctor!! He goes back and forth to the Aiea and Queens office, which I have no problem driving to either location. I don't think I have waited more than 15-20 min to see him for my appointments. Highly recommend him to anyone!!
Dr Yoshino has been my OBGYN for about 12 years now. He has helped me birth all three of my children and taken care of me with all of my woman problems through all these years. I started seeing him at the Queens POB 2 location. Then I would see him for my annual visits at the Aiea location for convenience. I can admit that most times Dr is short and to the point but over the decade plus I've been with him, he's always done his job very well. Like I mentioned, he's been there for three of my children, I've been on many different birth controls from him and I am very confident in him. When I had a problem with my IUD he was the one that performed my surgery to have it removed. I am now on my third Implanon, implanted my Dr Yoshino and it's working very well. I always brag about Dr Yoshino when telling my birth stories. I feel like I owe it to him, all of my births went amazing. Natural and medicated, no tearing, no complications... overall great experiences for me! The parking garage is right next to the building but can be a pain. The turns are tight and so are most of the stalls. But then again street parking is scarce. They validate but depending on how long im there it still is a price I hate paying. The office is located in the basement floor so no chance of getting cell reception. The only reason I can see why anyone would give a bad review is just that the personalities don't jive. But for me I'd rather the personality lacks but the knowledge and professionalism is at its best. When it comes down to it, that's actually what you really need anyways.
Best OB I could have asked for. He saved me from having a cesarean after 24 hours of induced labor after my water broke early. He had to use forceps because my son was "sunny side up" but they didn't leave a mark. I also came down with a breast I infection 24 hours after leaving the hospital which he saw me the next day for and gave me antibiotics. Being my first baby with so many questions he never made me feel dumb. And honestly we are a military family and gave Tripler a hard pass and were happy that we did due to Dr. Yoshino's massive talent in the delivery room.
I have been seeing Dr. Yoshino for quite a few months now and he has never failed to make me feel at ease. I really like how he takes care of my questions and concerns and gets back to me in a timely manner. His assistants are all so very nice and helpful also. I'm glad Dr. Mckenzie referred me to the right doctor!
H O R R I B L E ... If I could give negative stars I would. You can check my yelp, I usually only give 5 star reviews. My mother was inquiring about getting a hysterectomy but she had a lot of questions and me and my mom are not the type to complain at all. Even if we get horrible service, we just let it go because we both work customer service 15+ years and understand how much a bad review / comment can take weight and we don't wish that anyone, but what happened to my mother is horrible. During her visit he was very curt, short and seemed irritated when my mother had questions about the procedure, recovery time, etc. He literally gave her a handout and said call if you have questions. As a result of this my mother decided to cancel her surgery because she didn't feel confident about the surgery because the lack of rapport that this doctor had. Then here is where he messed up. He called my mother after she already called to cancel the surgery, called her to confirm she did not want to have the surgery, gave a disgusted laugh and hung up. Who DOES that? Rude as hell!! Like I said I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but if I could take this past a yelp review I would because his whole attitude was horrible and aggressive.
Doctor Yoshino had delivered two of my sisters babies and my son. I ended up having complications with my birth that led me to an unplanned csection. He knew I wouldn't be able to push my baby out because of my baby and my size. I was too small, my baby was too big. He had warned me months in advance I was at risk of a csection. However when my baby was born he had a heart defect that nobody had detected and usually isn't detected prior to birth. Him and his staff saved my sons life. I am forever grateful for his knowledge and skill. I really like that our appointments were short and to the point. Who ever likes being at the doctors or hospital for ages!? He answered all my questions and is very sweet.
My wife went into labor the morning of 12-14-2016 and Yoshino was notified at 6:30 a.m. that my wife had dilated to a 4. He wanted to be called in an hour to see if she had dilated further. At 7:30 a.m. Yoshino was notified that my wife was now dilated to 7 and he asked to be called in another half hour with an update, and so it went every half hour until 9 a.m. when my wife was fully dilated and in full delivery labor. Yoshino never showed up. RUN, DON'T WALK, AWAY FROM DR. HARRY YOSHINO !!
Save your time, your sanity, and your health... NO BED SIDE MANNER. NO TIME FOR PATIENTS. MISDIAGNOSIS WITH NO APOLOGY!!! I thought Dr. Yoshino was awesome when I first saw him, probably because I was a new patient. I was referred to him for OB-GYN care by my PCP. Later, when my insurance changed and I couldn't keep my original PCP, I designated him as my PCP as I was notified he could also be my regular doctor. Because I was happy with my first two visits, I figured it would be more convenient to have him as both doctors. Unfortunately, I began to feel that he thought I was wasting his time after the third visit and even when I had an urgent situation, he could not authorize his office to make space to see me... He just sent me to Urgent Care even though I told him that Urgent Care would not take my insurance. I understand that this isn't his fault or problem but most doctors at least try to help out when it's urgent and you are in a pinch. I ended up going to the Emergency Room and had several tests done. The ER was adamant that I have my PCP call back for the results. Although I told Dr. Yoshino's office this, the ER kept calling me because no one had called. I had to keep calling back to nag them to get the results. When Dr. Yoshino finally did get the results, he somehow didn't review ALL of the tests and therefore he misdiagnosed me in follow-up. I know this because I got a letter in the mail just before I started taking the meds he diagnosed for follow-up treatment. This upset me but I ended up not taking the antibiotics he mistakingly told me to take as I knew it wasn't a good idea and I initially didn't complain. I mean, at least I knew what was going on and that I shouldn't use antibiotics unless needed due to resistance, and at least I couldn't get more sick. Later this year, I asked for a refill of a prescription sleep medication he had prescribed and his office called me to deny me the medication stating that he would not because he is not a psychiatrist. This medicine had been prescribed to me not only by Dr. Yoshino, but my 2 previous PCPs (including the one who originally referred me to him) so I didn't understand what the problem was. When I called back to complain, I also mentioned the misdiagnosis from the tests at the ER and his assistant said she would let him know I called about these 2 issues. Dr. Yoshino called back and rudely told me to get another doctor.
I have been going to Dr. Yoshino for more than 10 years. And I introduced him to some of my friends and they like him. He is so nice, clam and gentle. I love the way he speaks. I have moved to Ewa beach from Makiki but I still go to his office at Honolulu. He is the best!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
