Herbert Chinn, Md's Online Review Report Card

Very Impressed with Dr. Chinn and his staff I got a referral from my urologist due to Dr. Chinn’s HIFU treatment. After reading some of the reviews here I wasn’t expecting a warm and cuddly experience - that wasn’t important to me. I was more concerned with his ability and experience as a urologist. So far I’ve had 3 appointments and I’ve been very impressed with his knowledge, his thoroughness, and his caring. He does have a very direct and abrupt way of speaking which may put some people off. He doesn’t waste time with fluff but if you look beyond that he is very respectful and caring. His office staff have also been very kind and efficient. I am very grateful and thankful that we have such a high caliber doctor in our islands.

Receptionist was yelling into phone at a patient about billing at length. Herbert had a pretentiously large office where he prattled on about unrelated subjects including his personal conservative politics, examination room was comparatively small. Receptionist is his wife, a very odd and unhappy couple. Subsequent billing was unnecessarily rude and aggressive. Avoid.

USED TO BE EXCELLENT, BUT ONCE HIS WIFE RETIRED SHE'S BEEN THAT ROAD BLOCK AND THAT'S WHY THERE'S NO SWEET FEMALES HANDLING THE PATIENTS' FILES AND SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS ANYMORE AS THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS. DR HERBERT CHINN IS AN EXCELLENT UROLOGIST. BUT TRY CALLING TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. SHE IS INDESCRIPTIVE OF HOW A DOCTOR'S OFFICE SHOULD BE HANDLED .Gary and Brandy

Rude staff from the moment walking in.

Wish I could give 0 stars I called to pay my bill. Told to mail bill or come in. Due to ongoing cancer treatments, I asked if they could take info over the phone vs me writing it on a piece of paper and having to go to the post office (virtually the same thing). They LITERALLY hung up on me when I was trying to come up with solutions. Called back #2, the "office manager" spoke over me, excused it, rude, laughed when I tried explaining my cancer treatment, hung up again. Called back #3, asked to speak with Dr.Chinn as she giggled at me the whole time again. Absolutely disgusting and unprofessional to behave like this, it seemed more like I was dealing with Jr High "mean girls" than professional medical staff. I initiated paying a bill, tried to give a solution but couldn't speak. My husband who just had surgery had to go in and she laughed at him in front of Chinn and Chinn didn't even apologize. She was entilted and didn't care how she treated patients. Entiltled (maybe his wife?). Just a disgusting person.

I feel Dr Herbert and his wife are very intelligent. Sometimes the confidence can be taken the wrong way. I have had nothing but great experiences with Dr and his staff.

This is most ineptly run office and staff I have ever encountered. It seems the arrogance of the doctor rubs off on the staff. They blame the patients for their inefficiencies and mistakes. Arrogant, rude, and unprofessional. Run for the hills....

Dr. Chinn did a urolift on me which he screwed up and caused excessive bleeding. When I called the office his wife blamed me for the problem. Saying I didnt drink enough liquid. Went to the emergency room twice because of blood clotting so I was in pain. Come to find out he nicked something that caused the bleeding so he had to go in to fix it. No sympathy or apology from him or his wife. To top it off the procedure did nothing to improve my prostate. He did nothing but cause me PAIN. CHANGED DOCTOR.

Be careful if he recommends a urolift. He botched mine and caused bleeding which cause me to go to the emergency room twice. He had to go in again to stop the bleeding. To top it off the procedure didn't do anything. CHANGED DOCTOR

I been seeing Dr. chinn for more than 6 yrs now.. his benevolence n compassion are unbeatable, I can proudly said I’m cancer free because of Dr. Chinn.. I’m very lucky !
