Thank goodness for Liane!! She is the best and a HUGE asset. I honestly don't know what I would do without her guidance and assistance.
Referrals never call you to schedule Poor follow through if ANY Even public healthcare is better
I had an unfortunate experience with Dr. M.M. When I shared my constant fatigue at 40, he dismissed it as normal aging without further investigation. I suggested blood tests for B12, thyroid, and hormones, but my next appointment was canceled. The staff seemed uninterested in discussing my concerns. I believe doctors should be proactive in preventive care, but it felt like action was only taken when illness became severe in the U.S.
Dr. Richard Ikehara and his staff have been the least responsive physician that I've experienced as a OBGYN patient. Never have I been treated in this manner, no one returns my calls and my request for my Prolia shots have never been on schedule, due to the incompetence of the doctor and his office. At first I thought it was due to being on Medicare and other supplemental carriers, but I realized I started with the docgtore befor I went on medicare. Obviously, Dr. Ikehara and staff did not take pride in caring for his patients, yes as your motto states "You come first" is a joke. I'm very concerned over the care of my bones, I've been waiting since July for my shot, guess I'm not a priority. Nor do I plan on ever going back to Queens for any OBGYN care. EmikoM
It is impossible to get anyone on the phone. When you do, it's some kind of call center with people who have no understanding of medical symptoms. I have resorted to walking into the Queens office in Kahala or Hawaii Kai to make an appointment. It's faster. I am frustrated and irritated. I have great doctors but this telephone system is impossible. There is no such think as customer service. I am seriously thinking about changing to an office who has a receptionist who answers the phones, if such a thing exists today.
You can't even get appointment for urgent female issues with the doctor! When you call the "hotline", they advise you to go to their urgent care instead.
It takes a very, very long time to be able to speak to office staff by phone, and when you finally do get to speak to someone, not only are they frustratingly unhelpful, they don't listen well and are quick to direct your call to the wrong department.
My PCP here is Dr. Gypsy Paar and I love her! She's very thorough and even sometimes calls me later to follow up up! I also find the location very convenient as I live in East Honolulu. The front staff are nice as well as the nurses. Unfortunately they have moved into the Urgent Care building near MacDonald's side of the shopping center. The area is a lot more cramped. The other location had little separated cubicles but here it's an open counter, less private. Waits hasn't been too bad- less then 15 min to get into the room and another 10-15 minutes for the doctor to see you. I've had waits of hour elsewhere. Hopefully they'll resolve the mold problem at the original location so they can move back
So I needed to establish a primary care physician and I really didn't want to go into town. After reading the reviews I had mixed feelings. Given that the reviews were mostly about the front desk employees. But I made an appt anyways hoping by some miracle those front desk people no longer worked there hahaha. I am happy to say that the staff were so amazingly nice and patient. Sachi (I hope I spelled that correctly) She explained what paperwork I need to fill out and took my temp, and picture for their file. She called me the day before to remind me of my appt, which I really like bc I've been a bit forgetful lately. So I really appreciate that. I saw Dr. Sanders, she was great and I felt that she really cared about concerns. Other doctors I've seen in the past, were rushing me and their answers were short. But she really listened and provided suggestions, it was nice. Also, I'm so happy I didn't listen to the reviews. I highly recommend this place to everyone!! And for anyone who maybe wondering or curious- yes they practice social distancing, provide hand sanitizer, everyone wears a mask.
I can't say enough good things about Dr. S. Sanders! She's empathetic, caring, thorough, super friendly, and will genuinely take time to listen to - and explore - all of your concerns. I particularly like how she approaches her doctor-patient relationships as a true partnership in patient care. Additionally, the nursing staff are fantastic and the front office staff are also helpful and friendly. Queen's call center team is also great. I highly recommend this center.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
