The staff, the organization and the hospital itself was amazing. Everyone made me feel at ease before my surgery (Iwas nervous). I also wanted to send out a special review to an amazing surgeon peter deptula. Thankyou for everything! HIGHLY RECOMMEND not only this surgeon but this hospital and everyone that took the time to care for me. I wasn't just a patient to kick out the door, I felt welcomed and everything exceeded my expectations.
Phone customer service is the worst. Entering as a "New Patient" the customer service agent took 2 hours just to fill in my information over the phone. Dragging every question, having to repeat the same answers over and over. It got to the point that I asked her what's on the drop down menu of her screen so I can walk her through the new patient application. The worst experience I've had with a phone customer service agent.
Thankful to triage nurse at check in and nurse who did ekg. They need more staff as forget about you and don't listen to your concerns. Get tossed in corners and odd spots hard track down nurse especially if in lobby area. There really should be someone out there at all times. Doctors rarely see you at discharge only nurse. As a patient in ER have questions they should be there. Not the hospital it used to be. Japanese doctor did nothing. Wouldn't listen to what we were telling him just thought what he thought. No regards to what patient situation is.
I wish I had better things to say but one of my patients was prescribed the wrong medication by a Tripler ENT resident at this hospital. I strongly warn patients to double-check who their doctor is (Queen's staff versus Tripler trainees) when seeking medical care at this facility.
ER nurses and their system was just horrible and totally subpar. The wait time was horrendous and the nurses were unprofessional! They're busy gossiping and laughing- instead of attending to the patients. They have more time lounging around instead of looking at the charts and checking in on the patients. What a HORRIBLE ER and nurses! I wouldn't even give it a star .
This has got to be the worse medical center in the islands.. is it impossible to get in touch anyone...not the nurses or the doctor at the University medical Center. help!!!
An awful health system that kicks patients out when they have urgent medical issues. How the hell does this health system pride itself on patient care when it fails to deliver?
I received a txt msg from Queens Billing department for $12. Turns out that copay was from 12.14.21. My last payment record by Queens was 2017. I called the business department on Tuesday 2.18.25 and was told by Ricard that their system was under maintenance and he coukd not help me. He said call back in the morning. On 2.19.25 I called Queens Business office about 3 pm and was told by Gabriel that he couldn't help me because their system was undergoing maintenance. I told Gabriel that was the same bullshit Richard told me on Tuesday at which time Gabriel disconnected the call. I recalled the business office and after several hellos, no response I hear Gabriel talking to a coworker about beingvthe choosen one. I asked to speak to the manager on duty, none then I asked tontalk to a supervisor on duty Gabriel responded their is no supervisor or manager on deck to take your call. He read my cellphone number back to me asked for my name, which shoukd have appeared with my cellphone number and stated someone would call me back tomorrow. Gabriel confirmed that all calls are recorded and monitored. By the way, this is the first billing attempt for services provided 3 years ago. From my health care compliance days I know that health care insurance companies won't pay claims first submitted over 1 year from date of service. Queens Business Office should have on their automated recording that their billing software is under maintenance and to submit your inquiry on paper with the name, title and mailing address of who to submit the inquiry. I will not go to a Queens affiliated service is concess.

What happened to QMC? As a former employee, it saddens me to see how things have changed over the years. ED staff gossiping on the unit for patients and family nearby to hear. When I asked for help, staff RN placated me and said Mom's RN was somewhere on the unit, but he returned to his gossiping/chatting group. There were a group of male staff at the nurse's station chatting away. QMC was once the best hospital on Oahu, known for excellent patient care, quality services, and professional staff who took pride in their work. I hope CEO Jason Chang helps to bring positive change to this non-profit hospital.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
