Dr. Hoekstra is a very knowledgeable and kind doctor! After several tests he ordered, it turned out that I needed surgery. I was extremely nervous, since it was my first one. Dr. Hoekstra patiently answered all my questions, and provided all the info I needed before and after my surgery to put my mind at ease. Everything went smoothly and he followed up a week later. Accurate diagnosis, professional and timely communication, and good bedside manners. Highly recommend this doctor.

Dr. Hoekstra did my hydrocel surgery about 2 years ago at Kaiser Honlulu and I consider it a successful surgery.

Arrogant, and patronizing. He was dismissive, and continues to ignore treatable symptoms, while looking for causal pathology. A terrible terrible doctor.

I would definitely not recommend this doctor to anybody I know, he is very dismissive of the patient's questions and shows no compassion or empathy in his practice. Did not seem very knowledgeable about various urological conditions and even misdiagnosed my ailment.
