List of John Nagamine's Reviews
When I gave birth to my now 11 year old back in 2011 it had been so long since I had a child (my oldest is 28) that I was told by nurses that if I didn’t find a PCP before discharge I wouldn’t be able to take my baby home and she’ll have to call CPS. I’m like tripping out at that point. Wondering if sister had a bad day or something because later she calls my phone to tell me that she has a doctor and if I want it she can give me his number. I of course said yes! Before hanging up she said that she “did me a favor and I better make sure I take my baby.” I so wanted to tell her to hang up and come to my room. Don’t do all her trash talk over the phone! Long story short, Doctor Nagamine welcomed my baby with open arms! Since then I’ve had two more babies, one in 2013 and another in 2015. My kids love him as well as Doctor Jackie. Staff is always welcoming and if we can’t make our appointment they help us in rescheduling. Doctors note or refilling prescriptions is fast. We appreciate you folks!
We love Dr. John Nagamine, Jacque (NP), and all of his staff. We've been taking our kids to Dr. John since 2013. He is very genuine, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Our kids love him and his staff. We refer all of our friends to Dr. John.
I used to recommend this office all the time... they were so good with my daughter she's 10 now but lately I don't know what to say.... I now have a baby boy and lately they haven't been helpful at all!!!! I don't know if it's covid that's stressing them out or what... every time I ask a question I get told they cant answer that or go to the emergency and I go for them to say everything is OK!! It's so sad I can't count on the first person my son laid eyes on💔 praying for the helping hands.
I recently called this office to switch providers due to an insurance change as well as not being satisfied with my childrens current care and I was advised that this doctor does not like to take patients from other providers because it is considered "stealing a patient" This is completely unprofessional. If a patient is trying to seek care or a second opinion on something, they should not be turned away due to personal relationships with another provider when there has not been any documented conflict for this client. While this is a personal preference for a doctor, refusing care due to personal relationship with another provider is considered unethical practice. I will be reporting this up the proper channels.
This doctor upon first meeting him "acted" and I say acted very nice, almost overly friendly and childlike in demeanor which initially made me feel comfortable. Within the first two years of us seeing him. Anytime I had questions or concerns about an illness or needed more reassurance in giving any sort of Medication to my toddler, he made me feel like my questions were stupid or would answer in such a way that was in complete dismissal of any other opinion or concerned objection to a medical recommendation. As a Parent, we have every right to respectfully ask for more reassurance when giving our children any sort of medication. In my opinion no question is a dumb question but if you see Dr. Nagamine he will certainly speak to you in a way that can be condescending at times. We found another doctor who has been extremely kind and open to any questions or concerns that I have as a parent. If you are looking for a doctor to work with you and your child I'd go elsewhere.
We recently moved from Hawaii to Virginia. Asides from leaving the natural beauty of the place they call paradise, having to say goodbye to Dr. Nagamine as our pediatrician was close to the top of the list of things we were most upset about moving. During the 2 years Dr. Nagamine took care of us, he provided only the most professional, yet loving and tender care to our son Bret. I could not imagine having anyone else provide medical care to our son during his early years. Additionally, the office staff there was extremely courteous and friendly and have continued to show us aloha and help us out with faxing and sending records to our new doctors in Virginia. Simply put, Dr. Nagamine and his office are the best!
I Love this doctors and nurses that work here they are the best for my kids and I trust them
If you want a condescending, judgmental doctor who blows off all concerns, this is your guy. Our first appointment with him he was very charming, but everything went downhill from there. I never leave reviews for anything, but felt like I had to after the treatment we received from this doctor. After 4 months we are now switching doctors. As a younger mom of two under two I was wanting a doctor who was thorough and kind. I instead got a doctor who acted like just because I was a younger I was incompetent. Extremely disappointing.
Very condescending. Acted like because I am a younger mom I was incompetent even though I have an older child.
I have taken both of my children here since birth. Dr. Nagamine has a great way with children and always puts mine at ease. He never seems rushed in answering any/all of our questions, you can tell he really cares about the children. All the staff are friendly and professional, and we typically get into all of our appointments in a timely matter. I would definitely recommend this clinic.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
