Your prescription gave our daughter BURNS on her face. What a joke of a dr.

Absolutely unprofessional!! I waited a long time before writing this because I was heated and I wanted to give it time. I would leave no stars if I could. We had a tele-visit for my daughter a few months back because we live on a different island. When talking about our concerns about our daughters SKIN, he asked if she was vaccinated for Covid as she's 10(It had just been released) I said I wanted to wait a bit as I'm not sure about it yet. TBH I never planned on it. He then proceeded to ask ME if I was vaccinated in a self righteous tone!! Why is that his business? This appointment is not about me! Before I could say anything more, he rolled his eyes and sighed under his mask, then got on his soap box and started preaching at me in a very upset and frustrated tone about why we should be vaccinated while my daughter was sitting right next to me both of us visible on the screen!!! Sooooo completely unprofessional and he was very rude and condescending!! Both my husband and I had to talk over him and raise our voices to tell him, "that's not why we are here!" I just had a very invasive surgery and was advised to wait due to medical issues and had family react to it badly (life threatening). Not that I owe him an explanation. I don't normally write reviews, but good ones. This was too much. He was a total jer*. I called the receptionist and told her what happened and why I wasn't going to schedule a follow up appointment. She was so apologetic. I think it's time for him to retire. Both my husband and I were flabbergasted at how rude and unprofessional he was! Oh! And the stuff he prescribed my daughter gave her burns on her face. So there's that too.

My appointment time was at 3:15pm, didn't get seated until 4:30pm & was practically shoved out by the doctor after a 5 minute visit with him. The front office staff were helpful & kind. But as soon as you get to the back & see the "doctor", the FIRST words that came from his mouth were, "Okay, you're 21 years old & you're vaccinated with no booster, do you know how dangerous you are to a lot of people?". Uh, excuse me? I came here for a DERMATOLOGIST visit. At that point I look at his resident intern & even they were frozen. Seemed like it wasn't a learning experience for them, i didn't even get their name. Then we move onto talking about my allergies which the "doctor" seemed to not believe I had. I tried telling him I had VERY sensitive skin & have tried some things he prescribed but he completely brushed me off. So, I go home & try these creams yet again & my skin literally burns off. My cheeks are raw. He didn't listen to me. That's the first thing a doctor should do is listen & that's exactly what he didn't do. Don't waste your time & energy with this so called "doctor". Again, I am 21 years old & felt so uncomfortable. Even the rooms were disgusting & unsanitary.

Incredibly rude doctor and not to mention how unprofessional they are. I came in because I'd been having hormonal break outs and I'm 30. I said "well it's not bad enough for accutane but it's definitely hard to deal with" he then goes. "Well it's all over your face. You have acne all over your face, it's not one or two zits it's like you got one here there" and he contributed to point out all the zits on my face. It was a horrible feeling. I know i have acne and that's the issue I came in to try and solve. He prescribed some something that didn't work. I felt horrible about myself when I left. He also yelled at me for taking my mask off to show him the acne! Like I obviously need to remove my mask to show him. I have never had such a horrible doctor experience in my life. He talked down to me like I was a child and definitely because I was a woman. You can see this man has very little respect for women. I hope they fire him. He's too old to be working anyways. The man looked about 85! Should put him in a home.

If your not vaxed your not welcome here.They are obsessed with everyone being vaxed. Spent less than 60 sec on a full body skin cancer exam an the rest of the appt. lecturing on getting vaxed and how all vaxes will be mrna vaxes. And how you gotta be vaxed every 6 mo, blah, blah, blah.The man is hysterically obsessed with the covid vax???

Dr. Helreich is a great Doctor. He is very kind and funny and he really cares about his patients. The Ladies that work in his office are wonderful too. They are very busy but take time with you and have great bed side manor. I fly from the Big Island every 3 months for him to check to make sure the Melanoma I had doesn't come back.. When my test results came back from a biopsy He did it was diagnosed to be Melanoma. He called me right away to tell me and He helped find a Dr. To remove it here on Big Island and went outf his way to call the Head of West Hawaii Community Clinic to make sure I was taken care of. I'm really grateful for all he does for me. I feel that he saved my life. I highly recomend him and all his years of experience. Dr. Helreich is a great Doctor. My child has been denied to be seen for yearly checkup recently due to not being vaccinated for COVID. So unfair.

The patient had been waiting for this appointment for over 2 weeks. We talked to the staff twice on the phone. We showed up on the day of the appt early to fill out the required papers. We were told the doctor does not see patients without a vaccine ID or a test. This was the first time they mentioned this information. The patient could get a negative test and be seen by this doctor if the staff would inform us on the phone--a discriminating doctor with unprofessional staff. Healing is not a priority.

Rudest receptionist I have EVER encountered. Will not be back because of her. She gave attitude because she didn't do her job in the first place. Never apologized. Threw a prescription at me. Unreal to me.
