Same thing happened when I first called was told they had openings and then changed her response when I said we only live here half the year. We were not able to be seen. Was advised to take my son to the hospital.

Me and my daughter love Dr. Lam! He is always very thorough, kind and gentle when handling my daughter. He has responded to my calls on a late Sunday night. He is always available to talk in emergencies and has bee a blessing for our family!

They don't book appointments ahead of time. The receptionist told me I had to call the day of to book. They open at 830 am so I called at 840. When I toldHer that my son wasn't a patient she Told me they were booked up. What a lie. Within 10 mins of opening you're booked up? Not very friendly.

We just moved to Kauai and we were in need of a local pediatrician. I did my research and ended up at Kapaa Pediatrics. Met Dr. Jesse Lam and he was great with my 2 month old daughter. His receptionists were all really sweet too! We didn't wait at all either. Will be back with my 2 year old boy next!

Visiting in Kauai, my daughter developed what ultimately turned out to be nothing more than a little viral illness. We called to make an appointment with Dr. Lam - based on the fact that he was a contracted provider with my BCBS insurance. Firstly, he was able to enter the room & not terrify my child. He had a gentle, kind way that endeared my daughter to him and made her not afraid, like she might be with a stranger... she's 2.5... most men are terrifying to her - let alone, a man with a stethoscope & the light thingy for your ears & throat. What's more than those things, is that he spent time with us, listened to our concerns & reminded us that if her condition changed, that he was available to us. I wish he had a practice where we live.
