Dr. Alex S. Carcamo's Online Review Report Card

In my opinion Dr. Carcamo of Complete Dermatology is a dangerously inept provider. Two more providers he referred me to in his practice also did damage. Carcamo left me with a large scar at the end of a routine procedure and changed prescription medication that has been effective for 10 years without discussing it with me and never called in the medication to the pharmacy that he promised would help treat the other providers in his office also did extraordinary damage with no explanation. He made a mess of my face and of my medical record. He phoned my primary care doctor and told him wild stories. I would warn any person that they should not approach this dangerous practice.

Horrible experience.I was left with a terrible scar from the procedure and picked up an infection in the office that won't go away. Carcamo also lied to me and lied to my g p about what happened.He would not Listen to me.It was an all-aroundStrange and scary experience

Just try to get a straight answer. Bad results, pain, scars. Horrendous experience.

Do not go to this person unless you want to be yelled at because Alex Carcamo does not like being questioned or told the patient wants to consult with other primary doctors due to patient’s unstable health status to decide on what treatment to do. He’s very prideful. Every visit he talks so much about himself or other irrelevant topics you can’t get a word in. This visit he made a scene by yelling & slamming the door in front of his staff & another patient. He has anger issues. He doesn’t care if the patient is not well. This visit made me upset & uncomfortable instilling more stress to my health situation.

I have never left an online review for a doctor before but I felt I had to warn people.. only go to him if you enjoy being condescended to, not listened to, being upsold expensive face cream first thing (before having had a chance to discuss your concerns!), and hearing him boast about where he went to school (did you know he went to Harvard?). He ordered blood tests and never mentioned it included a pregnancy test. Never called or let me know the results were back... I had to ask for them myself on my next visit a month later - the office didn't even have the results in my chart. They had to call the lab then. Also he never called in the medication that was supposed to be prescribed after the bloodwork.. luckily I still had a prescription from my former dermatologist who unfortunately has left the practice. I will 100% be finding a new dermatologist even if I have to drive 30 minutes. It was intolerable being in his presence. He also said things like "my passion is beautiful women with bad skin"; I guess that line works for some people but not me.

Dr.Carcamo is very knowledgeable! He is professional & explained so much to me about my skin. I normally get nervous seeing any doctor but he is so so kind and made me feel at ease. He took a lot of time with me to explain the skin and showed me charts of the layers of dermis. I am a visual learner so that helped me greatly. I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful, trusted, professional, Dr. Carcamo.

Dr. Carcamo is knowledgeable, thorough, and kind. His medical pedigree is one of the best in the country. I have gone to him for a variety of procedures and couldn't be happier with the results. His office staff is also outstanding and very responsive. Complete Dermatology is probably the best dermatology provider group in Hawaii and beyond.
