List of Joseph Murray's Reviews
What a blessing Doc Murray is for this small town, and neighboring communities. He's an old fashioned no-nonsense, yet personable doc. He tells you what's wrong, what's going to happen if you don't treat it, and even the likelihood of success of his treatments.
It's a testament to Dr. Murray and the professional, warm staff that they can take care of so many patients each day. Dr. Murray is straightforward, and efficient. He takes the time to listen then evaluates based on his 40+ years of experience. He knows what's "going around", and has seen just about everything in his clinic. He is not a hospital with equipment and staff to perform more specific tests, but he will easily recommend that direction if needed.
My husband and I are both seniors now, but had the distinct pleasure of having Doc Murray as our primary care physician for ten years back in the 90s. We moved back to the mainland, and have never found a doctor as caring as Doc Murray. We miss him dearly!
He is the best diagnostic Doctor I have ever run across, as well as kind & caring along with his staff. He saved my life and I have been his patient for many, many years!
My daughter has an autoinflammatory condition that flared up while vacationing in Poipu. The medication we give to treat this condition didn't completely eliminate her fever as it normally does and there were a couple other symptoms not characteristic of a typical flare so we brought her in to get some peace of mind it wasn't something else. After waiting for 3 1/2 hours, Dr. Michael seemed rather dismissive and gave the sense we were wasting his time (mind you this is 5 minutes of his time and 3 1/2 hours or ours). He said it was viral and, while it wouldn't help anything, he could write a prescription for antibiotics if that's what I wanted. I never mentioned antibiotics. Suffice to say i wasn't impressed. While I'd like to rate him lower, I hesitate to torpedo him with a one star review based on one encounter and I guess in the least pleasant way possible we accomplished our goal of ruling out an ear infection, step, or other infection requiring treatment.
I wrote a review for Doctor Murray last year and nothing has changed. He's an excellent doctor, has a great staff and always takes care of my medical needs. He listens, follows up and if needed refers me to a specialist.
Great doctor. Excellent bedside manner
I have too many experiences with Dr. Murray to share for this format. Bottom line, a great Doc who is a VERY good listener(GREAT Drs are good listeners), executes like an efficient businessman, and manages a pretty efficient and calm team. gk
My 5 yr old daughter became sick with104 degree fever while we were vacationing in Poipu. I called Dr. Murray's office and they said to come right in as they took walk-in patients. The office staff was friendly, efficient, and nurturing. She was quickly diagnosed with a strep throat infection. Dr. Murray prescribed an antibiotic and gave me explicit dosing instructions. He reassured me that she would be feeling better after a few days. I highly recommend Dr. Murray and his staff.
Even we made an appointment always waiting for an hour, if try to walk in, I waited 3.5 hours to be called in and he only spent 2 minutes with me. I was still asking him question but he stood up and opened door for me. He takes too many patients, recently he forgot to call me when I had bad side effect from medication he just gave me and nurse said he will call back.... Hard to find good doctor so I am sad...

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
