David Rovinsky's Online Review Report Card

I had a full hip replacement with Dr. Rovinsky in December 2019. It went beautifully. I was up walking immediately and the second day after surgery I walked over a half mile using my walker to steady myself. I'm two years out now and continue to love my new hip. I was looking for a surgeon skilled in the surgery I needed and Dr. Rovinsky was performing 350 surgeries a year about evenly split between hips and knees. Dr. R has also taught new techniques in Japan and done replacements on famous athletes. Wilcox Bone and Joint on Kauai was the only place in Hawaii using Verilast prosthetics. I continue to recommend Dr. Rovinsky to anyone who will listen.

I had briefly heard of the surgeries Dr Rovinsky was doing and called to see if I could get a phone consultation or an email so I could get to describe my injury. Living off island I felt a brief talk would at least help me make the decisions to either make an appointment or not. Dr. David Rovinsky is at the top of his field. We expect when a doctor trains other doctors that the trainer would come from the mainland and the students would be Kauai doctors. But Rovinsky travels to train other doctors. He's that good. He patched me up after a terrible motorcycle accident. He is kind and caring and very straight forward. Just an all around good soul.

After researching doctors to do a total hip replacement (that I had put off for over 15 years) a friend told me he'd had both hips replaced by Dr David Rovinsky at Kauai Bone and Joint Center. Dr Rovinsky did my surgery in February 2017, and I have nothing but the highest praise for him and his staff. He wrote the book (literally) on the much less invasive "anterior" approach to hip replacement. Within a week of my surgery I was ambling about without the aid of a walker or cane. I can now do the long hikes I loved to do, but had to avoid for the last 15 years! Dr Rovinsky takes the time with his patients and takes personal interest in your situation and activities. If I could give him a ten star rating out of five, I would.

Dr. Rovinsky is a wonderful Doctor. We are on Vacation in Hawaii and my wife sprang her foot and ankle severely and he made time to see her in his clinic. He is a very caring Doctor and took the time to review my wife's case and go over treatment options. I highly recommend him.

Aloha , 1st I would like to say Dr. David Rovinsky is a Angel ... If your scared and wondering about getting new hips , look no further , you have arrived at the right place !! I was a tennis pro for 20 years , a martial artist and surfer and I found myself unable to walk without a large bamboo staff . It was so frustrating not to be able to do the things I have always done . I also am a massage therapist for over 25 years and searched near and far for an holistic cure and the only successful thing I found was at my friends acupuncture clinic in the holistic medical journal was study group that removed all night shade plants ( potatoes ,tomatoes eggplant ext ...) and 50% of them grew back new hip cartilage . I tried this among many supplements with no good results . Finally I found Dr Rovinsky , he did MRIs and looking into his eyes like an Angel he said Rich I believe in Holistic healing but my friend , half your balljoint is gone and the cup is torched , theirs nothing to grow back !! Now this is important , I studied all the Doctors and procedures and the old way of hip replacement is cutting a lot of mussels in your hips and your never really the same , it works well but your very limited to full movement again . The new invasive way only makes a small incision without cutting all the mussels , 100% better !! The best Doctor with the most surgeries and success was a Dr Stephan Krausner in Texas which my insurance didn't cover , ouch !! Finally I found Dr Rovinsky on Kauai , lucky me !! State of the Art Surgery !! I am like a brand new kid again at the age of 59 , all is possible !! If your afraid of hip surgery look no further I guarantee your in the best hands !! Dr. Rovinsky answers all questions. He explains in as much detail as I can understand. He recommends I see another surgeon if my case has reached the top of his experience in my particular case. I find him very honest, kind and understanding. He does his best to meet my needs.

Absolutely the BEST bedside manners! All visits to all other doctors office, I feel like they just go through the motions and push you out right away. No explanations on cause, treatment, prevention and most don't ask if I need a note for work!!
