List of Don Halouska Md's Reviews
On my last visit to Houska, which was supposedly my yearly wellness exam, I had to wait over an hour and a half in the waiting room before even being seen by the nurse.
Dr. Houska has by far been the best gp I have seen. He spends a lot of time focusing on the problem, and tries his best to arrive at a solution. The office staff and nurses are extremely friendly and easy to talk to. There seems to be a bit of a wait at times, but it really doesn't matter knowing that other patients are receiving the time they deserve.
His demeanor has always annoyed me. Somewhat arrogant and off-putting, doesn't seem like he listens to your concerns based on past experience and your medical file. Very aggravating style, on numerous occasions over many years. Only see him if you have no other options. Others in practice are great.
This office is a train wreck - prescriptions given in the wrong name, billing is a mess, rude staff most of the time. The doctors vary as to their approach to medicine. Hoebel is uncaring and just wants the patient in and out, guesses at the problem and if she is wrong you must make another appointment to even talk to her. Houska is direct and usually correct, but needs to keep closer tabs on his office staff and how problems are handled. They are in a new, larger building now. One can only hope they have a better system for locating files. When asked to obtain a copy from a file it can take up to 45 mins. before they give up and ask if they can call when it is found. Been there - done that. Have not had any problems with the third doctor in the practice, Dr. Royster. He seems to have a very good reputation.
Dr. Houska is one of the best family doctors I've come across in a long time. He's very easy to talk with, informative about whatever is going on, and not in a hurry to push medications. He's also fairly respectful of alternative medicine, at least in my experience.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
