List of Hawaii Permanente Medical Group's Reviews
Went to Rehab to see Wendy. She was very friendly and helpful.
Always have a great experience
Whether on the phone, online or in person, my experience at Kaiser has been first rate. I have always been treated like a valued customer. I was able to change doctors until I found the one that suited me. It didn't take long until I found Dr. Minami. I have now been with him for years and convinced my husband, a few years back, to switch to him. Every time I see him he reviews my entire record to be sure all issues are being cared for properly. At Kaiser I know I am getting A-1 care and folks are so personable!!
I'm saddened at the ppl that didn't have a nicer point of view with the Kaiser clinic's. I challenge all of them to not wait until you write your review to of how bad your experience is but tell your doctors or find the nurse in charge to fix your horrible experience and have them turn your frown upside down. I am one true person who can stand by my reviews cuz I have an awesome team of Drs in Kaiser from different specialties, Dr Iwane pcp, Dr Beale oncology, Dr Kurahasi neurologist, Dr Matthew Chang/LeAnn surgeon, Dr Minami pcp and their assistants/nurses. I've been a Kaiser patient for 38 years total, 10 in Hawaii of my 52 years of life. Kaiser even gave me social workers Jodi Shaw, Carli McAdams, Jenny D and Alana for my dad, I can go on. Started in California and visited the ones in Oregon, Washington, Arizona and now Hawaii. Outta of all these states Hawaii is the best. They didn't make me feel like a number or an assembly line product. Every single one of my doctors are humble, funny, loving, intelligent and demanding when it comes to the care of their patients. Before the pandemic, my doctors and nurses went out of their way to care for me or scold me, that's when you know they love you. For those who waited awhile to be called, nothing is ever perfect it may be just that time or systems were down and the staff had to make sure things are in order for your care. As for attitudes from the staff, try looking at yourself first and see if you should also be accountable for your actions. If you think you're in the right, say to that worker (who is a human being) I'm sorry your having a rough day and I appreciate you being here for me today. I do take this personal because of the differences I find in Kaiser Hawaii vs Kaiser Mainland. I'm living proof. Ppl who want to go private like HMSA and so forth go ahead. See how expensive it is and the inconveniences of going all different places to get MRIs, laboratory, medicines, physical therapy etc...then your deductibles plus you have to wait for authorization from your insurance company to see if you should (live or die)..just kidding about the last part. Listen we are all human beings and we all demand perfection but nobody on this earth is or was perfect other than Jesus. Any time you write a bad review on somebody, check yourself first, take accountability for yourself because the powers that be are quick to fix the problem but slow to recognize the good works in the same person that customer/patient is complaining about. I wasn't expecting to write a review but after reading the reviews, I was hurt as well by the negative and very sorry you had a bad experience. There is always room for improvement in myself and you. Walk in their shoes and see if you understand? To all Kaiser clinic's in Hawaii-I am your devoted fan. I love you all for my care and my family as well. To everyone reading this review, May this New Year bring us all health, prosperity, joy, laughter but above all peace and love of God to envelope each individual. Forgive me if I said anything to offend anyone. Tofã soifua(goodbye my friend for now [samoan translation])
Worse place ever. Long wait times. Staff forgets about you. Bad communication. Never going back there.
I am visiting from Southern California and I had the pleasure to experience a great service and great teamwork of staffs that works there. They were all busy but they served everyone a friendly smile. When I checked in I was prepared to wait a while but they called me in 5 minutes. I thought they only called me for vital sign but they took me in to see Dr. In 5 minutes Physicians Assist Christine came introduce herself n started checking me. Very professional, thorough checks n gave me treatment. While I was on treatment Christine n her nurse came in to check 4x making sure I am fine. After Christine checks me after the treatment she gave me the discharge sheet n told me to go to Pharmacy. When I got to the line ; it made me more surprise cause when I got there my medicine was already ready. Never seen ppl hanging n looking around when their turn to be called . I hope every Kaiser Clinics do what they do at Waipio Clinic. I recommend that Clinic 100%. From now on when I come to visit n in need I will visit that Facility for sure. Thank you ALL to the STAFF that helps me with my health. Muchos Gracias!!!!!
Everyone is very helpful.
I cannot recommend Kaiser to anyone. Nobody is trained properly. Over the phone you will be bounced around because none of the employees know which department handles what; they don't know their own policies and each person is contradicting the other. The worst experience I've ever had over the phone was with a Kaiser employee yelling at me for no reason, then when she finally realized she was in the wrong she tried calling me "friend."Worst service ever. The pharmacy procedures are horrible. The 4 times this year I've seen a doctor, wait times have been pretty bad. Waiting anywhere from 50 minutes, to 3.5 hours. I've gotten my medication late almost 50% of the time. Partially because they either lost the prescription and couldn't find it after it had been filled, or because they are only open a few hours on Saturday. If you can't come in in the morning, forget it. They're closed by noon! Also, forget about getting it the next day. They are closed on Sunday, as well. Even with this known inconvenient limitation, they refuse to fill your prescription one extra day early, they have done so repeatedly with me anyway.Once I had to drive to an entirely different Kaiser location, and wait to see a same-day doctor to get a 3-day refill because "my doctor" has signed off on the refill, but the paper copy had not made it down to the pharmacy even after 3 days.Currently looking at options for buying my own HMSA insurance, since my job only offers Kaiser at the present time.Horrible, horrible service.
Convenient, easy to find. Clean and bright. Outstanding COVID screening.
Clean. FRIENDLY Close by, nice design

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
