List of Steven Aviles's Reviews
Probably the worst provider I have ever seen, ever. He didnt look at any of the information that I had sent over in advance and told me to take medication that I cannot take(If he had read my chart he would have seen this). Dr Aviles, you failed me and if this is how you treat other patients YOU ARE FAILING THEM TOO. Care about your patients and maybe you wouldn't have so many 1 star reviews.
Do not waste your time, he doesnt care about that fact that you are in pain, hes not going to look at your chart or previous tests. He should be in another line of work because this isnt it.
I had shoulder pain for months. Dr. Avilles ordered a MRI and he found nothing that required surgery, therefore, he said there was nothing he could do for me. He had no concern for the fact he couldn't diagnose my injury. Terrible bedside manners. After seeking a second opinion using the same MRI the new Dr. found a torn labrum. After physical therapy I am now fine.
I have just started with Dr. Aviles. I was impressed with his sincerity and will have a reverse shoulder replacement soon. I hope all goes well. I will give him 5 stars for making me comfortable and hope my opinion continues to be 5 stars.
I had a torn labrum in my shoulder after a work accident. Dr. Aviles said my x-rays were clear. 5 weeks later I demanded an MRI. He said those showed no tear. He let me go after those results. My new Dr. used the same images to determine I had torn the ligaments off my humoral head and torn labrum. 6 months after my accident I finally got surgery to fix me shoulder
The best: He correctly diagnosed. The worst: He doesn't care about my pain. He did NOT explain in human terms the problem. He was quick with words that meant nothing! He doesn't have a caring attitude. He felt surgery was to be immediate, however, I did not have broken bones, just arthritis-period! He became rude when I explained that an elective surgery such as he was proposing, is not something I can do because I have an underlying illness. He left the exam room in bit of a huff. **Just because you can cut doesn't me you always should as a surgeon** I have since discontinued seeing him and changed doctors.
Highly recommend
After seeing numerous doctors that had no answers to my hip problems, I was referred to Dr. Aviles in November of 2014. He ordered many x-rays and took all the time I needed to explain my diagnosis and discuss the pros and cons of surgery. He suggested and prescribed physical therapy and though it took almost 5 months of exercises, I was completely relieved of my pain with no recurrences since then. I call Dr. Aviles my "miracle doctor".
Had arthroscopic repair of labral tear. Explained the procedure, the pros and cons as well as expected recovery time, post op functioning, physical therapy, etc.. The procedure went smoothly and communication with the physical therapist was excellent. This Doc has a recovery program that is somewhat specific to help avoid re-injury and help ensure a good recovery - that impressed me!
Excellent Dr., Explained everything in plain English, asked if I had any questions or concerns. Very easy to work with.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
