A few days ago I had an appointment with Dr. Torrez, at BCHC in Independence, that had been scheduled by my PC Dr. When he came in the examination room he was wearing a red scull cap that said something on it about 'Brandon' . So, (naive me) I asked what the cap meant and he told a story about some race car driver, but what the real meaning was "F_ _K Joe Biden"! I was so surprised and taken back, by his response, that I asked him to clarify what he meant. His clarification was very clear. What he was saying to everyone who saw him was "F_ _K Joe Biden"! As I walked out he was still hollering across the hall that "his constitutional rights were being trampled on". If you want a rude, inconsiderate, right wing Kook for a Dr., he is your man. I sure don't want some one treating me who is so mad, upset, vengeful, radical and with no respect for the patients feelings!

I love that they listen to my issue and try to fix it in a timely manner. They explain things clearly as well. I've never had an issue after treatment yet.

Dr. Torrez is a very professional and kind hearted surgeon. I had a full knee replacement and went to see him due to all the wonderful reviews. He spent plenty of time with me at the initial appointment to make sure I completely understood the procedure and how the recovery would go. He was upfront with his comments about pain levels and how he addressed them. The procedure went exactly as he said and the recovery was also as he warned me about. This is a major surgery and yes there was lots of discomfort and pain involved, he made sure I had proper medications to help with it. 6 weeks later and therapy 3x a week and I am not sorry I had the procedure. Dr. Torrez is the ultimate professional and if I need this done to my other knee I will go only with him!

Initially I had a good impression of this doctor, then just one week before I was to have surgery I was informed it was canceled. Instead of telling me weeks before, I was told that day that I needed to lose weight before I could have surgery. I was devastated. I had waited over a year to have this procedure. I have not heard anything at all from that doctor since then. I would not recommend this doctor or this practice.

He was great as well as his staff. Needed to have surgery on my ankle and he did my surgery the same day that I saw him for my initial appointment.

Dr. Torrez is simply the best orthopedic in the Cedar Valley. Between my husband and myself, Dr. Torrez has performed 3 major surgeries on us and each one went great. His diagnosis was spot on, surgery explanations were thorough and post op care couldn't have been any better. Dr. Torrez truly cares about his patients and its very evident by the way he interacts and handles his patient care. And finally, he's got a great sense of humor which is always welcome in unsure situations like surgery.
