Had a recent visit and was told patients are allowed to be 20 minutes late to an appt plus I missed an appointment when I was in the hospital. When I arrived I was only 15 minutes late and receptionist called back to see if Miller could still see me. During the call from the front desk to a person at the back desk my 20 minutes was up. So now the Response was he was already behind and I need to reschedule. By the way did I mention I am pulling to oxygen tanks and walking with a limp. Hospital stay for missed appt was heart bypass surgery. I have been in this office several times and have always had to wait at least 20 minutes in the first waiting room then they take you back to 2nd waiting room and you wait another 20 minutes or longer. Front desk person apologized several times and wanted to reschedule. Think I'll look for a new eye dr.

The removal of my cataracts by Dr. Dan Miller improved my vision not only on an ocular basis, but provided expansion of my worldview as well. On a positive.note, the professionalism of his staff and facilities gave my skepticism on current medical arts and sciences a shake-up. The younger generation of improved procedures and practitioners is not mere.public relations. Dr. Miller’s cohort demonstrates excellence without the wearying distance of his ophthalmological predecessors. Pleasant personnel well-versed in their duties. On a less encouraging piece of the present, I was introduced to the widening gap between patient personal finances and medical industry pricing. This is not an indictment of Dr. Miller but of the obfuscation of protocols and billing levels put in place by industry moguls more closely allied to capital growth than good medicine. His offices gave me a glimpse at what nearly everyone is arguing about. In the current national transition, such polarization—with the desire for outsized monetary gain at one pole, and the doctor dedicated to continuing education and healing on the other—is emblematic of the struggle between humanism and financial elitism. I am inclined to see Dr. Miller on the human side of the equation. Not only did he clarify my eyesight, he gave me a look at the growing gap between Cedar Valley’s ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots.’
