List of Carol Tan's Reviews
Dr. Tan is a wonderful doctor! She was my primary physician for 6 years when I lived in Iowa. I continued to have her as my primary even when she moved from Coralville to Cedar Rapids. She was always extremely patient and understanding with me, which is particularly important because I suffer from health anxiety so I always had several questions and concerns. Dr. Tan always carefully and thoroughly addressed my concerns and always followed up with me. She listened to me and took thorough notes and asked several thoughtful questions. I trusted her and still consider her as the best primary physician I've ever had!
I have been seeing Dr. Tan for about 3 years now. She is attentive and caring. I have chronic pain and she is always very willing to consider new treatments for this. She is thorough in her exam and uses available technology to screen for things I am at risk for. I left my previous PCP of 15 years because she was none of these things. I find Dr. Tan to be a breath of fresh air when it comes to medical care.
She is extremely through and takes the time to listen to you. If any tests are needed outside of the clinic she will make the call, which is nice. I like that she looks deep into family history and addresses every issue so that you understand.
Very thorough and listens. I honestly feel lucky to have her as a primary provider.
She had all my medical records yet asked the same questions repeatedly - as if I were a liar. She even threaten me with ‘ I have all your medical information ‘ as she asked me again and again the same basic questions- at one point I told her no more - I would not answer it again Never in all my 60 + years been treated so shabby. We clearly are not a good fit. I was brutally honest with her and she didn’t process any of it. Including ignoring my breathing issues that are yet not dx. My pain is so high that I’m not currently able to sleep and was warned I can become upset - yet she was aggressive when faced with the results of failure to treat
My review posted today is partially incorrect. We misunderstood a error.
She had all my medical information and still repeated quizzed me as if I were lying to her. Hour appointment took three. I can’t speak to her intent but I was offender more then once.
There was a misunderstanding over discharge paper work that looked like she ordered expensive unneeded paper work. She had all medical records and still quizzed me endlessly as if I were a liar.
She repeated the same questions so many times I felt like she was inferring I was lying. She had all my records. She didn’t need to ask a single question. She was abusing her power. There are fair better providers. Run!
She ran unneeded expensive lab panel — then when I asked why if she had questions why not call the specialist. She said I was rude and hung up on me - my hour appointment took three hours!!!! She spent 20 mins over two meds she will never provide.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
