Love Dr Barnes. He has been a great doctor and advocate for me. He has gone above and beyond for me in not only offering to help, actually help and then checking in on my regularly when we he really doesn’t need to. So apples oats people like Dr Barnes. Thank you Sir from the bottom of my heart.

Tried to tell me big ulcer on bottom of tongue from rubbing on teeth.The ulcer is no where near where teeth meets tongue.

I had a throat based abscess and in the process of removing this he also did a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. Two weeks post-op my throat hemorrhages. I lost 1 1/2 pints of blood the first night. Go to Barnes’ office on Gunbarrel the next day, and he says post-op bleeding is normal, and writes me a prescription for PAINKILLERS, something I didn’t need but would hopefully get me out his door. I bled two more times that week, ending in an emergency surgery to cauterize my throat and a total loss of 8 pints of blood within 5 days. Absolutely do not see this uncaring, negligent man, and certainly do not get ANY surgical procedure at Erlanger hospital.

Approx 3 months ago I developed severe pain running from ears to jaw. First visit to MD rinsed ear and ear drops ( anti biotic and steriod ) 30 days later still no relief, refered to Dr Barnes and given second round of ear drops to use before visit to Dr Barnes. The first thing upon entering the exam room the Dr orders a hearing test ( ok but am not having any issues and NOTE that medicare will automatically approve this procedure putting $$ to Dr pockets ) No relief no answers...........

Dr. Barnes is both knowledgable and experianced, deeply concerned about the health of his patience. He listens carefully, and considers his patient's concerns as well as evaluating their symptoms. My youngest son has Autism; Dr. Barnes was able to reach him and gain his trust when he was 3 years old and completely non-verbal. He has always felt comfortable and safe with Dr. Barnes, even after two surgeries.Today, even at age 18, he still refers to him as my good friend, Doctor Barnes.

I have seen this doctor twice and he is very unfriendly but my primary apparently thinks he's a good doctor. Had a recent appointment and after waiting over an hour, I found out there were FIVE people still ahead of me. I'm so tired of these doctors overbooking and thinking their time is more valuable than mine! Gonna find another doctor!

This man has absolutely no bedside manner whatsoever. He is rude, argumentative, arrogant and cruel. Never in my life have I ever been subjected to such nastiness in a professional setting. There is no excuse for such behavior. After my experience I called a friend who knows everyone in this small town to share my experience & to see if maybe I'd overreacted..., she confirmed she'd had the same experience, as had others. This is my first time to rate a doctor, and my single worst experience with a doctor in my life. This man should restrict his practice to pathology. I hope his partner plans to retire soon....this guy can't be good for their business.

Dr Barnes performed Sinus surgery on my husband--and found TWO POLYPS under his eyes and TWO POLYPS near the brain. During the surgery--he LANCED these to drain the INFECTION FLUIDS-and the bacteria was serious type. This surgery was in 2006-and this has helped my husband tremendously. PTL Also, we were BLESSED with the warm delightful fun personality of Dr. Barnes. Additional note--BEFORE Dr. Barnes performed or suggested SINUS SURGERY-hetreated my husband for over a year-trying to PREVENT this surgery. Many thanks to Dr. Barnes for the WONDERFUL and EXCELLENT care and surgery-(NOT AN EASY SURGERY TO DEAL WITH)-yet Dr. Barnes did a good procedure and follow up care helped my husband. Mrs. K

I went to Dr. Barnes due to having an almost continuous sinus infection for like 3 years. I ended up having sinus surgery. He saw me twice before the surgery. He was 30 minutes late for my surgery because he was having lunch. He did not even speak to me after the procedure. In subsequent visits he was very condescending to the point of being almost rude. He treated me like a child and I'm almost 50. I went back to him a couple of times due to some issues I was having and he basically laughed at my questions and told me not to worry. His sole purpose appears to be getting a patient into surgery, collecting his fee from their insurance and then getting rid of them. He's not caring and concerned and I would not recommend him. The nurses in his office are friendly and efficient which is the best I can say about my whole experience with this doctor. I have been left feeling very angry about the whole process and the surgery did very little to help with my sinus problems. My advice, find another doctor.
