Elizabeth Grattan's Online Review Report Card

I hate going to any doctors office- but I absolutely adore Dr. Grattan. Her staff always makes me feel welcome and the office is always clean and well kept. Dr. Grattan is very thorough and professional. She’s been my dermatologist since moving to Charlotte in 2008 and it has been a pleasure working with her to get my psoriasis under control. Grateful to see her each year.

I have been to Dr. Grattan a few times and I am not impressed. She doesn't spend even 5 min. during our appointments. Also, she had no suggestion regarding the skin issue I was dealing with and seemed dismissive.

I am a long time patient of Dr. Grattan and really love her. She is very professional while also being very friendly. She is thorough, her examinations are perfect.

Dr Grattan is easy to talk with and offers superior care !

Dr. Grattan did a fair job- unfortunately a lot of the progress of seeing a dermatologist is the follow up appointments, ointments, etc. This is nearly impossible with the staff currently working with her. Rarely receive a call back or help with questions that I have.

Dr. Grattan found a very deep aggressive melanoma in my neck. She immediately set-up appointments for me with a surgical oncologist to have it removed. Great bedside manner and very professional.

My father (83) went in for his first exam and all she checked was his head! However, he had a suspicious cancerous growth on his hand that she never even looked at!! Months went by and I demanded he see her again to have it checked. Sure enough she took the biopsy immediately and sent him home with blood gushing out of a a small gauze held on by a band aid. When he got to my office, I looked at him between my patients and could not believe that she would send an 83 year old man on blood thinners home with just a band aid! I gloved up and removed the band aid and gauze and could see the open wound just pouring blood! I compressed it for a while, replaced with large gauze and taped and sent him home immediately to be managed by my Mother who is a retired nurse! How can a medical doctor and her nurse not realize that a man on blood thinners needs to managed properly. This is ridiculous and inexcusable and I recommend someone seeing someone else. Not to mention a dermatologist should not allow a new patient to tell her only to check his head!! A good dermatologist says GET NAKED and checks you from head to toe, and if they do not, then go somewhere else!!

I really like Dr. Grattan. She took time, checked me over and listened. Very professional but friendly. My Internist had recommended her as I wanted a woman. Her credentials are excellent, top of class.

Dr. Grattan was the typical dermatologist of these days - quick to complete her checkup and interested in skimming of additional payments from patients. She recommended removing a mole from my leg for a biopsy. I agreed, given that she is the doctor and I trust that she has my best interest in mind, and I was scared when she suggested that it needed to be biopsied. The mole was benign, thankfully. After the fact, I had a second opinion - and mind you, for my own records, I have pictures of my "skin map" so I was able to provide photos to the second doctor, who said that the mole looked perfectly normal and he would not have suggested cutting it out. Now, I have a permanent ugly scar that shows when I wear skirts, dresses, or shorts. I truly believe that this was simply an attempt on Dr. Grattan's behalf to skim more money off what would have been a routine visit. The biopsy was nearly three times the cost of the regular checkup. Beware!! Have a second opinion BEFORE agreeing to any procedures or biopsies recommended by Dr. Grattan (or any other doctor for that matter). Final comment, I had a question for her after the checkup, while she was still entering notes into her computer. She seemed disturbed and not interested in addressing my question since we were no longer in "checkup mode." Why is it so difficult to find a dermatologist who genuinely cares about good skin health and not simply adding on procedures or products to boost their profits?

She didnot listen to my problem by spending enough time. Inaccurate diagnosis for hair loss and itchy scalp. I would strongly not recommend her.
