Won’t answer questions! Took forever to schedule and form treatment plan!
So so disappointed in this doctor. She does not listen to how you are feeling on the oral chemo meds. She did not notice that I had a heart murmur. I questioned her on that. She does just enough time to submit to insurance. She does not explain well on the why's, need's to do this treatment or meds. She sends you off to have x-rays, echo, pet scans, etc when you share how you are feeling. Often scares you from doing anything such as traveling, spending time with others, shopping, etc. and I had both vaccines, still wear N95 masks. I just don't get her lack of patient care and concern.
I have been very disappointed in Sandre and her lack of true compassion. She lacks honesty in her communications and does not respond to phone call (messages). I asked for upfront diagnosis but she avoided my request. I did everything she told me to do and was at every appointment. When having tests, scans, biopsies, x-rays, she told me she would call me with the results. She only did that the 1st PET/CT scan. I had a very bad experience with second round of drugs. Her RN finally called back in 4 days to tell me Sandre wanted me to stay on these drugs. Really, you got to be kidding! I had heart palpations, could not sleep, mouth swollen with severe pain, of course, could not eat, sores on my scalp, constant severe coughing, could not see. Numerous times, I called her office number, called the urgent care number, call the pharmacy that sent the drug left several messages only to learn she was on vacation. Then, when I went to my appointment, she said" why didn't you call."
I find it hard to trust her recommendations. She recommends tests and stated she would call with results but that only happen once within 2 years. I have called multiple times to discuss my treatment plan or issues with my treatments/meds . She is either on vacation or does not return my phone calls for 2 to 4 days. She states to call immediately if I should have any issues with my medication so I called with my symptoms. However, upon arrival at my appointments, there is no record (RN says) that I have called. It is frustrating to deal with these and more issues while hoping for good treatment for Stage 4 cancer. My quality of life has been placed in jeopardy because of her inapt care.
Very nice and explained everything very well. Would highly recommend!
If you want a compassionate listener who takes time to explain your diagnosis, your options and helps you reach a decision that is right for you, Dr. Sandre is your kind of doctor. She didn't dismiss my concerns, took my questions and provided answers at the visit, or called me at home later with more information. She has kept up to date on medical advancements and discusses new treatment options at my follow up visits. At a time when I was facing so much uncertainty she helped me through all the information overload from all the directions and helped me be comfortable with my decisions.
Compassionate, Hopeful, Honest, uses non medical terms so easy to understand, so much information for most Cancer patients to absorb. She doesn't overload the patient with too much info, just the facts & a simple positive plan, but delivered in a caring & hopeful manner. I'm a 4 year Ovarian Cancer Stage 3 Survivor & I'm very grateful my local Surgeon suggested Oncologist Dr. Sandre, before surgery. She's the best & Love her Nurse Ramona too. (It's a mighty Blessing for those in Appanoose County that they hold weekly Oncology Clinic @ Mercy One Centerville, Iowa, really a bonus for elderly folks traveling in Winter)
She was rude and inadequate. She made me much worse. I changed to another Dr. And am much, much better. I would not recommend her at all!
She saved my life! I was a stage IV, metastatic. She prescribed the chemo for me and worked!
Very good bedside manner-comes across as compassionate and caring, but still very upfront about the patient's condition. Is observant, listens well and is a good diagnostician. Is cautiously aggressive in her approach to treatment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
