She's a really nice doctor and very through she has all the latest equipment and doesn't try to sell you the most expensive earring devices just what you need
Attempted to take my son when he was a newborn diagnosed with hearing loss. Did not go back until I had to (we go to Standord) when he turned 6. Was again, useless at best. Not only are they not pediatric, they seem to lack real experience/knowledge. Try Hearing aid specialists of the central coast instead. Dr. Peter Lucier was professional, skilled, and lacked the negative attitude that everyone at Karen Scott's seems to have.
I was recently diagnosed with an Acoustic Neuroma which effects my hearing. I had my baseline hearing test from Dr. Scott's office, and have been tested following the diagnosis as well. They have been very supportive and are well informed of AN. They have all the equipment necessary to test and report the findings, and shared them with me in layman's terms. I am grateful to have a local audiologist to be following me during this process.
I have had my hearing tested at Karen Scott's office several times over the past 10 years for ongoing medical needs. The staff has always been professional and through. They have always seen me on time. Not like some other offices where I've waited for an hour past my appointment time. I am very pleased with the service I have received from her office.
A wonderful Pediatrician! Dr Scott makes sure the patient and their family understands what is going on. Definitely takes the time with her patients.
I had a great experience here. Going to college in slo has left me without an audiologist. I called for the first time 2 weeks ago and asked if I could get my hearing aids cleaned(they hadn't been cleaned in years and were having problems). I was told to come in that day and they will give them a look. The receptionist was super sweet and cleaned out both of my hearing aids and gave me some cleaning supplies so that I could keep them clean. She even called my hearing aid company to see if i still had a warranty on them and could get them refurbished. I have my audiologist back home whom I love but if I ever need anything while in slo, I'm going here no doubt.
The first question I was asked by the person answering my call was "what Insurance did I have." I responded with XXX and was then asked if that was a PPO or HMO. When I answered, "HBO", I was immediately told that I would need to go through a plan provided audiologist as this office did not accept any HMO insurance. That's fine, I guess, but what she didn't know was that I have the money to pay out-of-pocket and would have appreciated a few questions pertaining to my hearing situation and needs. Then, there might have been some business and I would have possibly been helped by them. So, I won't be a client but at least I know where their priorities are.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
